They've got the Victorian thing going. I find the brightness of white a little disturbing, but also recognize cool when I see it. If you've owned lots of pairs of white shoes and you know exactly how these would fit into your wardrobe, or if this is a price point that lets you experiment without feeling too bad if it doesn't work out, then I think you should go for white/ecru. On the other hand, if you haven't owned white shoes recently, or these are expensive enough that they'll have to really work for you, then I think you should go with your original plan. I feel like you have to be absolutely in love with the shoes--in white--in order to make them work. Mine took a lot of thinking and a lot of mixing up my standard clothes pairings to make work. They still aren't super functional in my wardrobe. But I love them. They are beautiful and comfortable and they look fabulous with jeans.
