The pants look like they fit well. I like my work trousers to have a wider leg - makes me think of Katherine Hepburn. I agree with Jenava about a shorter sweater or tucked in blouse. Both could make your pants look really sharp and updated.

I second Alaskagirl. Trousers are so hard to find that fit well and look good. I, apparently, owned the same pants she did back in the 80s . . .

Anyway, while skinnies are still popular, straight leg and wide leg trousers, especially for work, are still on trend. I know Angie posted on this just a bit ago. The big thing is to find what works for you and the outfit.

With the right tops, those trousers will be just as fab now as when you bought them!

I think they are great! Although I do prefer them without the jacket. I think the longer jacket would be better with a more streamlined trouser. For these, I would look at shorter sweaters and tucked tops (with a belt if there are loops).

I think if they fit well and are styled with updated pieces they can be worn for work! Well-fitting pants are too hard to find to let them trend out, unless they are REALLY obviously dated (high waisted pleated tapered gabardine Liz Claiborne pants, I'm looking at you!).

I dug out the trousers this week and did a try-on and purged those that are no longer acceptable. Now my question is about current trouser trends. I have not worn trousers for a couple of years but the recent trouser posts here at YLF sparked a rekindled interest. I wore the ones pictured below last week but feel they may be too wide. The four pairs I have are this cut so I may need to start looking for other options. Your thoughts?
