Haha! Sorry I don't have much to work with yet outfit post wise...I only have a few photos But I hope to add more soon. Yay for body type twins! Up top I measure 33" around the bust. I consider myself a pear shape.

I'm going to take a closer look at the Levi's options when I get home tonight. If there's an olive pair it may be a done deal...

I bought them in regular length. I have disproportionately long legs and a short torso. I've never had a problem with pants being too long, but they are often too short. But I also have a sewing machine machine to work with if necessary. My waist is the same as yours too!! Maybe we are body type twins, that is kind of exciting! (off to stalk your posts now to see what looks good on me *ahem* you) If I can ask, what is your top half and what shape do you consider yourself?

But yeah, I loooove these jeans. And I'm really excited that the new 710 comes in several shades of blue, black, grey and in olive too!

AlwaysAsking - I LOVE those levi's you linked! The wash is nice and dark and the short inseam is actually just right for me. Since we're the same height, did you purchase the short?

In terms of my measurements, the 39 is taken from the widest point of my hip (so around mid rear). My waist measurement fluctuates between 27/28 (I like cookies...) so there is a sizable difference there. I'm definitely short waisted as well with longer legs. We sound like we have very similar body types!

You ladies are the best!

MrsK - Those jeans look great. I am becoming increasingly curious about BR as I've never shopped there but a lot of forum members find great pieces there. I really like the denim option you've shared...and bonus for the sale.

Bijou - thank you! I'll have to check out Frame for options.

approprio - Actually, Angie linked to those too in her comment and it looks like they do have shipping to the US! I really like their styles available..I'll have to look into shipping/return policy info.

Angie - Thanks for the insights! I love the crops - although on me they'd probably fit like normal skinnies since I am shorter. I'm really contemplating the Farrahs, especially after hearing more than 1 positive review on them...I just love the look and how fitted/streamlined they are. I also really like the Dianas that you and carter included. Maybe I can have the best of both worlds here...a premium and non premium. Gap, BR and Kut from the Kloth are all brands I want to try in addition to AG. Those G-Star skinnies are SO fun..I love them.

We have similar measurements - I'm also 5"4' and 39 at the hips - but I think there are a few things you should consider here. Is that your hip bone, your rear, or somewhere along the thigh? Do you have a significant hip-to-waist ratio difference? If petite sizing doesn't work for you, is it because you have longer legs and a shorter torso? (that's the case for me)

From a very, very long, nearly lifelong search for perfect skinny jeans, I would like to suggest the Levi 710 Super Skinny. I recently purchased the Levi 535 Legging jean, and while the fit was perfect, (which was the biggest thing I always struggled with since I have a substantial rear end and thighs but smaller waist) the one issue I did have was the knees bag out rather quickly. The 710 is supposed to be the replacement for the 535 Legging, and says it has "improved recovery" so I assume this means in the stretch department. I've found that several other Levis fit me perfectly from rear/thigh to waist, and since they are a brand that has been around forever, I feel confident in being able to replace my jeans any time I need to.

If you don't mind going with a brand that is A- more expensive or B- potentially will change their cut and styles frequently, then perhaps a designer brand is better for you. I have no experience with any but Joes, which did fit me well-ish, but those were a bootcut and I haven't tried on any of their skinnies.

Best of luck, and let us know what you end up with!

My new favourite skinny jeans are by COH - the Rocket Crop. The Gap Resolution skimmers are great too. And the AG Farrahs have been brilliant on clients.

I generally like J.Brand and AG best in premium denim. I was surprised to love the COH. I also have a pair of new G-Star moto skinnies that are fun.

For non-premium denim, it's KUT from the Kloth all the way for me. My clients also like NYDJs, BR and Gap.

FWIW, I'm a big fan of G-Star Raw for women's jeans. I've had a few different pairs over the years and I've always been really happy with their cut, materials and attention to detail. But they'e a Dutch brand and I have no idea of their availability outside Europe.

Banana Republic Premium denim are my favorite skinnies. I tried them after Angie recommended them in one of her jeans posts, and I LOVE them. I have 3 pairs of them and turn to them all the time as my favorite jean. They are soft, stretchy and don't bag out at all. They run true-to-size.

They have a high-waist, dark wash skinny on 50% off right now (code BRSAVE). Available in short and regular inseam.
http://bananarepublic.gap.com/.....=673027002

Janet - what a great find! I've been eyeing some of the skyline skinnies but the price tag is pretty high…guess that comes with the territory of premium denim so I'll keep my eyes out for any sales. I think I'd definitely need to have the Paige denim hemmed as the long inseams wouldn't work for me…but that's an easy fix.

Bonnie - thanks for the recommendation! I wasn't aware they had a line of denim so maybe I can pop into a store to give them a try. With all of these suggestions I think a trip to the mall for a try on marathon is in order.

Nannabella - that's a great idea and I have never tried on any express denim before. Looks like they are all on sale right now, and the legging style is just what I'm looking for. Tons of great dark washes to choose from too! If you have any dark pairs, how does the color hold up in the wash?

I'll be the voice for cheaper jeans. I've tried Paige, AG, and some of the other pricy brands that are popular now, but I've found that for a legging fit in jeans, I really like Express jeans best. The short lengths (short, regular, and tall available for each size) work well for me. The denim is super comfortable for me with lots of stretch and doesn't bag out at all. The legging fit works better than any other for me for wearing with boots because I really hate lumps of jeans bunching up under my boots. The Express are the ones I turn to over and over again for wearing with boots. I like the mid-rise and hi-rise legging jeans, and when I wait for a sale, I get them for under $50 a pair.

Another fan of Paige here -- the Skyline skinny works well for my combination of largish hips and thighs and a long insteam. I have a pair from 4 years ago that is still in pretty good shape, but I was really happy to stumble upon a pair in TJ Maxx recently, so I snapped them up for a great deal.

Dashielle I am really glad to hear your rave review! I would love to see what they look like on. I have a bit of sticker shock at the price but they do look like exactly what I want.

I love Kuts, Joes, Gap, Paige, but most of all AG! I need to post on the forum soon, because I have found the one pair of skinnies to rule them all in the 360 contour AG Farrahs. They sound perfect for your needs, as the fit in all the right places, don't bag out and have all way stretch. You could do yoga in them, they're that good! I had quit trying to buy pants and gave these one last shot. They are my first (recent) high waist and ahhhhh. Not as high as back in the 70s/80s, but still...

Evie, you sound like the skinny jean expert! I think I'll need to take a similar approach…ankle jeans on me tend to fit perfectly but they can be hard to find sometimes.

Laura, thanks for all of the curvy suggestions! I have tried some Loft curvy denim before with mixed results…but their denim seems to be consistently improving. I think I just need to go to the store and try on versus trying to guess and check via online ordering. Thanks for all of the great suggestions…I will have to try them out!

For a big difference between waist and hip, I recommend ON Sweetheart cut, Loft curvy, and AT curvy, all of which are often available in more options/colors online, as opposed to in store. Kut from the Kloth is also great, and Eddie Bauer's curvy cuts. NYDJ might work for you if you like higher rises; they usually come up too high on the torso for me. My newest splurge brand is CJ by Cookie Johnson.

I pretty much live in skinny jeans...dark wash, faded, distressed, black, grey...you name it, I've collected it. I love JBrand, Paige, Mother, Rag and Bone, and Hudson jeans. Their skinny fits tend to hug the ankle nicely (usually about 10" leg opening). I always look for cropped or ankle length first, as these will not need hemming. I am 5'2". I also like the 'Halle' fit from True Religion. These, however, are difficult to find on sale. You have to be ready to pay quite a bit.

Thanks so much ladies!

Murpheleven, I've heard good things about Paige denim! I really like the black pair you've shared.

WordLily - sorry I should have included that I'm looking for mid to high rise as I'm comfier in higher rise styles, and a dark wash. I have a pair of regular Loft skinnies right now but they're the lower rise…I'm tempted to try the high rise.

abc and Meredith thank you! I have been so back and forth on whether or not to buy a more expensive pair or try some more budget friendly options. I haven't tried Gap yet, so maybe I should start there. Their petite inseams are actually just the length I'm looking for. Perhaps a mall trip is in order this weekend.

I agree that Gap is worth a try before you shell out for pricier options. They fit me well, and I don't feel the need to spend more on denim. That being said, my JBrands that I found at a consignment shop years ago made me look amazing and lasted a long time.

Well, I can't speak to skinny jeans in particular, but it might be helpful to mention what the brand, specifics, are on your current ones. What do you like/want in terms of rise?

Paige jeans work well for me -- 3 of my 5 pair. They make me happy and worth the $$. Good luck on your hunt!

I'm starting to save up for my wardrobe refresh and have figured out that my money is probably best spent first building up a good foundation of basics. Seeing that the weather is cooling off here in Florida, one of my focus areas is denim.

I live in skinny jeans, especially on the weekends, but have to admit I'm not fully satisfied with my current pair. I'd like to replace them with a nice uniform dark wash pair that fit almost like leggings. I like the ankles to be tighter as I wear a lot of flowy tops.

What are your favorite denim brands? I'm open to "splurging" on a nice pair if it's truly worth it for a better fit. I'm also curious about the cheaper alternative - the new Loft hi-rise ankle jeans. I do have some curves (measure 39" around the hip) and am shorter at 5'4" although I've never had much luck with petite sizing.

I've included a few finds below that I like. I'd love to know what your favorite brands are and if you have any recommendations. These will be a wardrobe workhorse!
