I don’t wear bras at home, but appreciate hearing everyone’s ideas for when I one day will be back in the real world again. In the meantime, the only thing I have to offer you are this joke about losing weight, and a photo commentary on how well it describes me, lol. A guy I sent them to claimed not to see the humor; perhaps YLF is a better audience for them.

I reached a point in quarantine when I just couldn't stand the wires anymore, and ordered a few different styles from Macy's (good selection online).I don't know that I am particularly short-waisted, but the underwire seems to jab my stomach. I am a 38 DDD/G, and I was looking for something with considerable support. Glamorise did the trick. They look good under clothes and don't smush me (no uniboob). They also make sports bras if you are interested. They weren't expensive on sale, and you can find a great range of bigger sizes.Um, if you're looking for a PRETTY bra, these probably aren't it.

Cup size is relative to band size so saying you're an X cup really says nothing about overall volume - Angie, you and I are both D cups but I'm pretty sure you're a lot smaller than me.

I've wasted some money looking for comfortable and/or wireless bras online. I always want to give a new style a chance. 32 F, used to be G, Wacoal worked somewhat, but the more it was washed the less comfortable it became, so I gave up.

I was a 34 C before menopause, went up to DD, but with a bra fitting it became that 32 G. I eventually gained 10+ pounds, but the size went up before that happened.

Wish I could be more helpful.

I just discovered the Coobie seamless bra, which is also wireless and I am impressed. It gives me very good, but natural shaping with excellent coverage. Also, the padding is removable. I wish I had discovered Coobie bras sooner

I wear a 42DDD and up until recently I was convinced I would never be able to find a wireless bra with enough support, so I had kind of given up trying. But then the pandemic happened and I figured, when I'm home comfort is more important than looks so I ordered a wireless bra online. It was even marketed as a "lounging bra" so I really had no hope for support, just comfort. Well, it turns out I accidentally found the only wireless bra that has ever looked good on me!

I think the wrap design is doing most of the work here. It's ingenuous really. That way, the pressure isn't all on the poor elastic at the bottom. If you can find one with a similar design I'd recommend you try it!

I have been wearing the Uniqlo Beauty Soft bra that neurosmom linked to for the last three years. It provides enough support for me (34B or 36A) and is very comfortable. Neither the back band nor the straps adjust though. So it either works or it doesn't. If there is a Uniqlo near you, try it on. For reference, I wear a size S.

For bralettes, I wear a discontinued Nordstrom brand (sigh) and Elita brand crossover bra. Not much support but coverage and comfort.

And menopause didn't change my breast size - so there is hope.

@Suntiger I've started doing that too with the higher quality bras (like Wacoal & Uniqlo) that can take a beating lol. But when I would buy cheaper padded bras (the more expensive ones I've found here tend to be cooler-toned, which stands out against my skintone) I'd find that the foam cups start to disintegrate over time, even if I wash them in a mesh laundry bag. I wish I could go without padding in the summer but I have a bit of a 'headlights' situation (tmi lol, sorry!)

PS - For another brand suggestion, I also have Pierre Cardin wireless bras with built-in padding that give great shape, since they have a wider waistband to give support as they 'lift'.

You lot are depressing me :/ I'm currently in DD and hope they go back to normal!

To me a bralette looks like a little crop top, with wider straps. Like a sports bra, but softer. I have ones from Bali (I think, they came from the Bali/Playtex shop) that have sufficient padding for modesty. I wear them for sleep/ lounge.

I have one wireless normal bra at present- cheapo Fruit of the Loom. It's comfortable, and not sure there's that much difference between it and the underwire ones tbh.

@Zaeobi I wash any bras (sports bras, bikini tops) with removable pads in a lingerie bag.

I live in wireless bras (even for my sports bras for exercise). I'm a 34C or D (depending on the bra brand & style) & have found Uniqlo Airism bras to fit well, as well as the one @nemosmom linked to. I also have some Wacoal ones I like because the straps are wide (comfortable for my shoulders) and the padded cups are attached to one another in the middle but removable from the bra itself (which makes them
much easier to wash - trying to fish out individual padding circles before laundry & then struggling to fit them back into the cup slots can be a little fiddly and frustrating).

Anchie and others: When you find a bra that fits -- or one that definitely doesn't -- look it up on bratabase.com by make, model, and size. It has lots of reviews because a bra can vary on being true to size at one end of the scale or the other, just as street clothes can differ. It will tell you if a bra is good for those full or shallow on top, wide or close set, etc. It also provides a ton of measurements. But I will add that the same make and model of a bra but in novel color can deviate from the normal ones.

Anchie before peri menopause i was an A or B cup (depending on the brand), post menopause I’m now a D...and when i gain or lose weight, that’s were i gain or lose 1st....Sorry TMI

anyway, on the original question, I’m on my ipad do no finds. But i bought these 2 bra’s a couple of weeks ago, and really like them both. They are comfortable but have have support. And built in privacy pads, which are really important to me
the 1st one is technically a sports bra, but for me its really comfy as an everyday bra
the 2nd is sort of somewhere between a bra and a bralette
i own a couple of the True bra (see find) and its really comfortable, but, as time as gone on I’ve found that it stretched out really fast, and keeping track of the inset pads can be a pain.

I think the growing of boobs in menopause is different for everyone. Mine have shrunk. Kind of like it for the same reasons you stated Anchie. I never have been very big busted but now I can even go braless in certain clothes without it being noticeable. I wish I could find more simple bras. In summer I do not want underwire and padding. I tend to wear camisoles that have built-in bralettes under most of my looser tops.

LisaP - how much growing are we talking about? I do appreciate having smaller size now, everything is easier. Sleeping on my tummy, running and jumping, finding clothes that fit, etc.

Breasts "growing" in menopause? God yes, and it's awful, unless you think heavier breasts are a good thing ( I don't) . Blech.

torontogirl - which brand are you happy with?

Janet - really, they grow in menopause? No one told me that before either. Even after two pregnancies I haven’t got single strech mark on my tummy, but managed to get some on my boobs because they were changing sizes that dramatically. And it seems it is not over. TMI I know, LOL

You may have to try a couple of different brands to find the best fit for you. Wacoal happens to fit me well now (when I was smaller, Natori worked, but no more). I'm envious of those who have many choices in bras! My size is limiting, especially when it comes to wanting something the least bit cute, and especially in a sports bra that doesn't look like industrial scaffolding! No one ever told me that boobs grow in menopause!

I only wear wireless bras - mind you I don't have much to support! But I do feel they are almost as supportive and so much more comfortable that it's worth the small sacrifice in lift.

Janet - thanks for recommendation. I used to have a good luck with Wacoal at my old size, but I completely overlooked them now, since there is so much more choice at my current size. I think even too much choice, that is making me indecisive and overwhelmed. That is why I am asking for recommendations, to have somewhat of a focus.
