Super cute! Okay, I am stealing Aida's thunder (she's doing the write-up from our L.A. meet-up) but I have to tell you why I ended up buying Cons on my trip.

I don't think they're *that* comfortable, but we had been hiking all over a college campus for the flea market and I was wearing cheap Target flats. They were comfortable, but not for hiking miles and miles. By the time we got to the Lab (shopping center) my dogs were barking so loudly and I didn't want to hold everyone up. I went into a thrift store looking to buy a pair of shoes, ANY pair of shoes that would be better than my flats. The Cons were there and only $17.00 so I bought them and wore them out of the store.

They are not as comfortable as my trainers, but they are as comfortable as my Ked's boat sneakers and more comfortable for shopping than any of my flats. They are getting softer and more broken in and they are *growing* on me. I've worn them everyday for the past 3 days as I have been on the never ending jeans hunt.

Oh, and another thing. I am more of a ladylike white Keds girl than a boys' Converse type. But now I notice other women wearing Cons and I think, "Yeah, she gets it!" I still don't look down at my feet and think they're pretty, but I feel young and hip when I have them on. I'm not sure I would have ever tried them if I hadn't been desperate, but I'm glad I did! Those leopard ones are the cat's meow. If you are ever going to try them, that pair would be the one to get!

I can see Claire in those, can't you?

I'm like you, Diana, can't wear 'em. But maybe Angie is onto something smart with the insoles idea.

I am one of the hammer smashing people. It helped some, but not enough to make them super comfy.

I don't wear those brands but I once read that people will take a hammer and start
smashing the inside back of the heel and that works.

IK, exactly! The backs of cons always rub my heels raw. I also do find them too flat, and even my big arch support insoles don't really help.

Those are really cute. I'm with you though, I find Cons and Keds uncomfortable. It's not the insole, it's the heel rubbing that kills me every time.

Have you tried adding cushioning insoles to Cons, Diana? That's the only way that I wear them.

Nice, Chucks!

I think you guys know that I am not the biggest fans of cons (both for looks and comfort) BUT I saw these leopard print chuck taylors on someone at the bus stop last week and they looked super cool. If I didn't find cons uncomfortable I'd totally order some. (Incidentally has anyone seen other brands of leopard print sneakers around lately?)
