Sarah, what do you mean by they're too white to be clams? Am I considering committing a faux pas?

Thanks, all. Both are straight leg (the grey are boot cut actually) but it's hard to pin them up with the slimmer leg that I'd alter them to before I actually cut off any fabric. I guess the lesson is that I'm going to have to just try it and see how it looks then to get a real idea.

I'm torn; I don't want to wreck them. They're both too short for me but someone shorter could use them as is.

A lot of us must be on the same wavelength - my thought too was that the grays would work better as clams *slightly* shorter (an inch or two) than the shortest length you have in this pic, and that the white pair would work great as knee length bermudas or walking shorts.

What Shannon and cceile said: For the grey ones, I'd go shorter (actually just a titch higher than you've shown). For the white ones, they are too white to work as clam length. I suggest making those into bermudas. Have fun!

The gray look more tapered than the white (is that right?) -- I think the gray would work well midcalf (right). The white ones I actually think would work better bermuda length!

on my 5-5 height I find if the crop is mid calf length, the style needs to be fitted or I look stubby. Straight leg does not work for me cropped. I like the knee length also, and am going to cut down some pants for that purpose.

I think either mid calf as long as they're tapered, or to the knee like a Bermuda short.

I did this with one pair I have-I think the most flattering lengh on most women is midcalf or thereabouts. Personally, I don't care about the "rule that shorter women shouldn't wear cropped pants" and wear them all the time

I'm seeing crops that hit anywhere between the knee and ankle, so I'd just go with what you like! I know that cropped pants are popular, but have you given any thought to making them knee-length shorts? I'm short, so that's a more flattering look for me. But if you're taller, you can get away with the cropped look.

I need to turn these two pair of jeans into crops. Do any of these lengths work? (ignoring the bulk of the pinned up length if possible)
