Thank you all.

Angie, I could wear flesh coloured hose but am very conscious of the discolouration and lumpy bumpyness of my left leg, the shape is now different to the right and over and inch and half wider, I think these could be a good option to wear under jeans and trousers when it is warm enough to maybe roll them up or wear converse type shoes without socks, so that they won't be so noticeable around my ankles. I can also wear them under leggings etc at the moment as it is cold enough for longer boots but once it is milder the shape and size difference in my legs becomes an issue again :'(.

Hi loulou! (Btw, I see you are in the *lou* club :D) I wear skinny fake jeans mostly - something with a little spandex. Helps them stay up by being more form fitting. Also, I find them more comfortable... But I do a lot of tunics and skirts and dresses too.

By all means wear support hose under jeans and trousers.

Can you find flesh toned support hose? That will work better for Spring and Summer with skirts and dresses.

I have to wear support hose when I fly. I had knee-high stockings and I wear them under jeans with no problems, if you want to do that (although it probably won't work for summer). I also suggest putting monistat chafing gel all over your legs before you put them on. It helps with chafing and makes them easier to get on and off.

Hi Rachylou Thanks for your reply. Jeans aren't my main staple as I struggle to get ones to fit well and/or stay up. I do wear belts with my jeans more often than not. Do you wear skirts and dresses/tunics mainly if you have the same trouble keeping jeans up?

Thanks gryffin, I have found a pair of black opaque tights just this weekend actually and wore them with a tunic dress and boots on Sunday. What do you wear your black tights with tunics/skirts and also what shoes I love short boots as well as longer ones, will these see me through to the summer do you think?

Sorry for all the questions ladies.

Loulou - I wear black tights all the time and love them. I'm a huge fan of jobst which is a support stocking and I don't have a vein issue. Very opaque, last forever, don't bag out and come without a reinforced toe. No leg fatigue but price over the bud $30's but I have a pair that's lasted years and still looks great. They do have knee highs and thigh highs for under pants too if you can get away either them. I think tights are cool, not frumpy, to me as long as you don't wear them flesh tone. Good luck!!

They seem to come in different colurs. I'd treat them just like tights, and stay away from white. I saw some online with a little bit of sheen. Looked quite nice, IMO. Do you ever wear tights? Are jeans a main staple? Do you do belts? (I dislike belts personally, even tho I have the sliding pants problem too)

Hello All.

I am in need of some help, advice, suggestions please. I am suffering with bad varicose veins in my left leg, unsightly and lumpy bumpy too. I have seen the surgeon and I am on the waiting list for a removal operation, who knows how long. In the meantime I have been strongly advised to wear support tights. What do I wear with these, do I attempt to disguise them under jeans and have the problem of my jeans sliding down, even more than they normally do to distraction. Wear them under leggings with dresses/tunics and them what footwear etc. Do I embrace the fact of wearing tights and if so how......? I am 42, a full time childminder and like to look smart casual, 5ft 7, hourglass with IT shoulders too. It is driving me insane as I don't want to look frumpy or too dressed up and as I we are not hopefully going into our Spring here in the UK, saying that there was a frost again this morning and not due to go above 11 degrees..... Any suggestions would be appreciated.
