So many people use the terms interchangeably - leggings, tights, skinny pants, etc. My general rule is if they are sold folded up over a cardboard card or in an envelope (so you really cannot try them on), they cannot be worn as pants. If they are displayed folded like real pants, they are often thick enough (like ponte pants) to be worn as pants. The said leggings must not be obscenely tight. </p> <p>I personally wear Jeggings and structured ponte leggings on a regular basis because I sport the long over lean silhouette a lot.
