I think it’s great to use leg makeup! But, if the makeup doesn’t hide the veins and other unsightly items, why would you want them displayed? I think it’s a matter of self dignity and concern for your fellow man. We all have flaws that are better kept private.

I agree with many of you and minor imperfections, spots etc are ok and acceptable in my book, I have many spots, some veins and not perfect at all. I love skirts and dresses and bare legged. It's quite warm most the time so this is the most comfortable. On occasion, events etc.. hose or leggings. I also concerned about too much chemical cover-ups, spray-ons etc to hide what are really normal on most people. I have nothing against these products or the gals usiing them I just prefer more natural and less fake.

After having my baby, my legs just looked absolutely awful, dermalmd varicose vein treatment serum really helped just in time for summer shorts and dresses too. It took a couple of weeks before I noticed a difference, but it was definitely worth the wait. I feel way happier about my legs now.

This post was revived from long ago, and I was surprised to see it. It was fun to revisit the responses...I've happily been using Sally Hansen Leg Makeup ever since....it was a game changer for me. I no longer avoid shorts, dresses and skirts in the summer months and feel confident with the coverage. I found recently that they have come out with lotion as well as the spray on type. Both work like a charm.

Carole - I hear you, and all I can say is - become comfortable and ok with it, and move on. I fussed around with the Sally Hansen spray stuff, some Dermablend leg makeup etc - and all it did was draw more attention to it. The colours never matched perfectly, and I was so worried about getting leg makeup on car seats and clothing that it made everything so much worse. Like you , I tan really easily, and have a lot of freckles too. I have had sclerotherapy for spider veins (back when I had turned 40 I think) and it worked like a charm: they never came back. As for the rest of it - well, if it's not one thing, it will be something else. Just keep your legs toned, moisturized well, and add a touch of spray self tanner - and you'll be fine

I have to agree with Angie, I don't let those things bother me. I am bow legged and bruise rather easily. My legs are also quite pasty looking. But I am not going to die of hear in the Summer or avoid summer dresses because of that.
The only time that I have ever done something was when I fell off a bike and got an enormous bruise and was going to a memorial the next day. I bought some yellow concealer for "buff" it up a bit.

BTW, I have ever heard of the leg makeup !

Freckles are hard to hide, and many guys love them! So, if you still want to try to hide them, you may want to try using a concealer and a full coverage foundation. Also use some best skin brightener which will really help you to get rid of freckles and age spots on face!!!! These all contain natural and safe ingredient so no side effect at all....

Yes sometimes we learn to accept ourselves as is, when we realize that others accept us that way. Sarah, I saw you in the late summer in Texas wearing a dress and I didn't notice any veins in you legs.
I have age spots and veins showing in my legs and face. I have had some laser work done in the past to burn them off. I confided with Angie a year or two ago that I didn't want to wear clothing with my bare legs showing because of my veins and spots. When Angie told me that people with spots and veins showing, are always welcome with her, my feeling about my spots changed. If the spots and veins are fine by Angie, the stylist, than they're fine by me too.
I am fine by anything a person wants to do to ward off aging spots and such. I probably will have further laser treatments to burn off the spots and veins as they reappear. The biggest thing for me is that I am not at all freaked out about someone seeing my freakish spots anymore. After all I don't notice them on others.
I wore a dress bare legged outdoors and I noticed in the pictures that the dress throws a shadow on your legs and it's really very much different than standing under bright bathroom lights looking at my legs.

I'm the same as Angie- ivory white all over. I don't really tan at all and have really translucent skin as well so I just ignore the visible veins. I don't think I have ever used fake tan either as the smell really bothers me.

To Angie's point.... I tan very easily and even now (with very limited sun exposure) my face/chest/arms are at least two shades darker than my legs. My legs don't color well at all...never have.
I do my best to keep my skin top to bottom the same shade. White arms and orange legs isn't my thing.

Sarah-I will have to give Neutrogena and Loreal a try...Thanks for that!

Joy-I've never liked the self-tanners because of the smell, seems to linger until it is washed off, do you have any recommendations for ones that don't smell?

Angie and Roseandjoan-I never had sun spots until my 40's and then they came with a vengeance, it's the one thing I would do differently if I could live my life over, Wear Sunscreen! I'm glad to hear you don't think sunspots are offensive! But the tanners do help me feel better about how I look, especially for some special event or occassion.

MsMaven-I guess I'm not alone-I used to love to tan, after being so white all winter it just felt good to warm up in the sun, but now I sit under the shade or an umbrella for fear of bringing more spots to the surface.

I've used Sally Hansen's Airbrush for several years to help with spider veins and varicose veins. I have pale thin skin and they do show up. Self-tanner doesn't work too well for me. Air Stockings, sold at Nordstrom, is similar but costs twice as much and their color doesn't match my skin.

There is also Dermablend leg makeup. I used it ages ago but remember that it was hard to blend with the skin. I checked online and they have new products, so maybe they've improved.

I only bother with the Airbrush when I am wearing a nice outfit. I used to try to tan my legs, but now I have sun damage and stopped. I do get sclerotherapy every couple of years, but I then get new spider veins.

Possibly some dark spots or scars could be treated by a dermatologist.

I have a leg that curves out from the knee down, quite a bit in fact - I used to be very self-conscious. But I love skirts, so what the heck !

That is my respectful answer to you : what the heck ! You are beautiful and human - you are perfect. Besides, you will look so lovely that no one will notice !

Remember, the reason that Cindy Crawford is so famous is because she is a genetic freak - a gorgeous one, but so few people look like her which is why she is a mega model.

The rest if us are who we are and that is just perfect as is !!!!!!!!

With that said, make-up companies carry body concealer ( I think that some are even waterproof ) you could do a google search.

My answer would be similar to Sarah's. I'm living with my veins and spots (and bruises due to blood thinnners), but self tanning cream seems to help them not be as noticable. I also keep skirts at the lower knee when possible because this covers the worst areas but is still a flattering length.

I have had visible veins in my legs since I can remember. I really hate them, but I've come to terms with the fact that
a) I have them
b) They aren't going away
and
c) It's too hot to stick to jeans all summer long.
I do use a L'Oreal or Nuetrogena sunless spray tan because it goes on very evenly and isn't sticky. It's similar to the SH stuff, but the SH always makes my legs sting and then it goops off if it gets warm out. It's not as thick as the SH, either.
