I've only just started wearing a wool coat here this week, too -- then again, it is a freakishly warm November here. But I don't start wearing wool coats until the temps drop to around freezing. Before that, a trench over a jacket usually does me. It does depend how much you tend to layer, I think. Living where I do, layering is a way of life.
