It's classic Talbots - a really high-quality wool tweed, good construction with narrow armholes and all. I know they've modernized a bunch over the past few years, and a lot of their items look really great.</p> <p>Oddly, I associate them mostly with my best friend in grade school. She was preppy to the max and her parents would take her to Boston a few times a year to go shopping, having deemed our rural Connecticut offerings not good enough for her prep school. It's a bit odd to think of a middle schooler in Talbots! In fact, my card says "cardholder since 1982". I don't think their quality is what it used to be, but I like their pants, several fits plus long/tall lengths, and they used to carry shoes in my size, 10.5 Aa, but not anymore. Their shoes are great, wide selection of colors and styles. I don't think they are frumpy, it all depends on how you put things together and how things fit. (They do tend to run large.). Plus, it's my go to store for a business suit. ( because of the tall length pants.) My best friend Wendy was visiting from New Jersey and she&nbsp;really likes the store, so we went. They had some very pretty clothes, and I was pleasantly surprised.</p> <p>A lover of all things lace (even the frames of my glasses are lace print), I knew right away I wanted to pair the top&nbsp;with my black&nbsp;VC tube skirt. I also decided it was time to get a little festive and I wore my snowman necklace.</p> <p>And btw, TWO DAYS left for Frankenboot!&nbsp; </p>
