Yes, late to the game but have a great trip. FWIW, after my 20 miler for my first marathon I nursed a knee injury for three weeks maybe running 10 total miles in 3 short runs plus a little cross training... race went well. Second marathon I trained even less... never got in more than a 12 miler I dont think still the race day adrenalin did its job. Better to be 10% undertrainied than 1% overtrained a coach of mine always said. So rest is good and dont worry about it! Have fun!
Runcarla....oh, fitness was something I agonized over for a while. At first I was set on bringing my running gear, but like you said, it takes up space! And I am currently training for the marathon on May 12th, so a few runs would have been good. Buuuuuut, I really didn't want to have to think about it there, and also I am really tired and my hip flexor still hurts from my 20 mile run last week. My 20 mile run was awesome though, it went so well that I told myself if I did it well, I would not take my gear. I am in the tapering down phase now anyway. I will do a medium length run tomorrow before we leave, then take the 10 days off, and then do some 4-5 mile runs when I get home in the 10 days before the marathon. Maybe it's not the best plan, but I had to work around the trip, and honestly I think a little rest time will do my body better than a few runs on my vacation...but, we'll see come race day!

Sveta that's a good point about the white jeans. Unfortunately I have it all packed and ready to go, and I'm just not mentally able to do more thinking about it! haha! I guess if I get 2-3 wears from the white jeans, that will be fine. I can probably launder them at some point too. Or just wear them dirty, haha!

Well, I am absolutely spent...I fell like this is very good timing. I need a mental and physical break!

While I adore white jeans I would not take them for a trip where you want to travel light. For me they will require a laundry after 2 wears at the most and even if I can do laundry jeans dry for a long time. Just not practical in my travel book!
I think leather jacket should be fine if you also have a warm sweater to layer under it in case of a cold weather. Is it waterproof? Will it withstand a downpour and not get ruined?
I had 3 bottoms on my 17 day trip and it was enough: jeans, slouchy trousers and a dress. I usually go for more tops than bottoms because they tend to get dirty faster and also they give me a feeling of more variety.

Don't stress too much and enjoy your vacation, it sounds fabulous!

I would second missvee's post. Is everything you posted able to fit in a carry on? This would be awesome. If it is check through, don't sweat it, and do as Ornella posted, and pack your favourite toiletries and use the case that is convenient to you.

I know you are a runner. Are you planning for fitness, or taking a break?

On my last trip, my fitness gear was HALF my carry on! But I washed it in the sink and rotated 2 sets of gear. I was glad for the gear and got 5 workouts in over 7 days. It was the running shoes that took up the most space. This fall when I go to the UK, it will be after my season, and I will not be packing gear, and will take the month off.

From what I can see, you are on track, if not a little over what you need. You should be okay, and fashionable.

Ornella, yah I definitely have sunscreen. And it does look like there could be some rain, so this is why I'm having such a hard time. I don't want to double what I'm taking.

Ok I went back over it. I decided on the leather jacket, the Caspians and my NAVY oxfords, and the leather leggings instead of dark grey jeans. I tried stuff on quickly, it seems to work well. If it rains, well I have an umbrella and the sneakers will have to do.

I have about 40% of my luggage free, but I'm sure ill fill it up! Even if I don't find a lot to bring home in Croatia, we are stopping in Frankfurt airport on the way there and back and I'm sure I can buy enough chocolate to fill that up!

I also vote leave one pants and that long trench behind. And do not agonise, no need for that. Glad you packed shorts. Great footwear. Boots may be too much, but if it ever rains you're sorted You can travel in them.

Toiletries - suncream? You have fair skin. My son got sunburned at the playground this week, eek, didn't see that coming.

Btw, you're so cute. Have a great time.

Mo, we're headed to Croatia. DH's father is from there. We'll be travelling around, visit some of his family and all the big sites.

I just finished packing the kids for my mom's house, and DH is packed. So now I will go back and look over what I have there.

Thanks for the advice so far. I don't think I can take both jackets. I probably could squish one into my luggage, but I want to leave some room for souvenirs and gifts. I think the trench will get left behind, it's rather bulky. It's pretty heavy weight, it's a coated cotton fabric, so it is water resistant, but it makes for a heavier, thicker jacket.

Hmmmm.....back to the drawing board....

Also, we don't leave until late tomorrow afternoon, so I have a little time yet...

I would wear the black moto boots on the plane and pack the Caspians. The moto boots will be handy to have if it's rainy or cold. Can you wear your leather jacket and pack the trench? It looks like it would fold up pretty small. ( I know you're taking a carry on only.)
I like your 3 jeans choices but substituting the leggings would be fine too. Try not to over think it - you will look great in any of these!

I like the leggings over the grey jeans, except for the fact that I prefer the leather jacket, so I guess it depends on whether you would wear those 2 items together. I also prefer the white loafers, except for the fact that I don't like the sneakers with the dress and I'm wondering if the boots wouldn't look better. Do with that advice what you will.

I vote leave behind the dark grey jeans and trench, take the white oxfords. I really like a trench for traveling, but two coats is too much to me. So go with the cool factor of the leather jacket.

Aghhh! I can't believe I don't have this sorted yet! I feel like nothing works and I can't decide what to take. Here's what I finally decided on but I'm stuck on a few things.

Firstly, take the leather jacket or the trench coat?

Second, my main pair of shoes are the Josef Siebel Caspians. I am taking small grey travel flats as back up because they will not hurt my feet and they take up little space. Should I take the white loafers as well or just do with the Caspians? My black moto boots are in 1 or 2 pics and are very comfy and could also be a contender.

Third. I will take 3 pairs of pants, right now I have white jeans, dark grey and light grey. I have some pics with my leather leggings. Should I go for the leggings over the dark grey jeans?

So here's what I have:

white jeans

light grey jeans

dark grey jeans

possible alternate, leather leggings

striped top

mint tee

black layering tank (and white, not pictured)

black top that's at my mom's but I will use this as a "visual substitute" it's the exact same as the striped top, but solid black

silver sweater

black shorts

olive dress

leather jacket

possible alternate, beige trench

The remaining pics are various outfits I put together. I'm not sure I feel super stylin, but I'm tired of agonizing over this. I still do want advice regarding the shoes, jackets and leather leggings vs jeans. And anything else I may be missing. Also not pictured are my unders, tights, swimsuit.

Thanks! We had such a busy week or so thinking about house stuff and maybe moving that I let this go too long, and now I feel frazzled and tired.
