Leather jackets are something you HAVE to try on, because the fit is all over the place. I don't know why! I wish I could tell you where to shop, but I'm just here to say that I FEEL your frustration, Shiny. Leather jackets for petites are almost impossible to find or extremely expensive. I have been looking for years!!!!!!!!! Because of this, I ended up settling for a Bebe leather jacket just because I was tired of looking and it was the best I could find at the time (this is years ago). Needless to say, it was a waste of money because I recently started a jacket picture thread and that one was voted out because it fit me so big. I was surprised at how big it fit me actually! Settling is bad. *sigh* So, moral of the story, don't give up and don't settle for anything less than a perfect fit. Those sleeves were waaaaay long. Bummer. That Top Shop stitch jacket is beautiful, but again, if the sleeves are long, there's stitching (duh, thus the name I guess) on the cuffs, again making it impossible to tailor. I am wondering if vintage would be the way to go on this? But who has the time to go searching?? The result was absolutely gorgeous and she wears the jacket often. I'm not sure how expensive it would be, but it might be worth considering. (Maybe you could even show them the AT jacket and ask if they could make something similar for you?) I'm having no luck, because petite pickings are slim and far between. I see some potential NON-petite jacket options, but fear that the sleeves are just going to be way too long, or it just won't fit perfectly. I really liked the jacket at Ann Taylor... but the sleeves were way too long and had zippers so couldn't be shortened. 1) Any suggestions and 2) Any predictions that perhaps BR might come out with a petite leather jacket this fall? In past years, I've noticed they usually have one leather jacket... Or is this the prime season with the most choice and I should just bite the bullet and take a chance ordering online or selecting a regular that can possibly have the sleeves shortened? also 3) Anyone try Victoria's Secret lately? I noticed they have some cute offerings... but in past I have not had luck with their fit (seems for taller women).
