At the moment I am fortunate that my half thyroid is doing the job and so currently don't have to go on thyroid medication. I have been told that situation needs to be monitored. And keep wearing them forever! They look so good on you.</p> <p>DH had a benign tumor removed from his thyroid when he was 36 and has done fine. Now he has a bonkers parathyroid gland, soon to be removed. All this apparently caused by experimental X ray treatments to reduce tonsillitis when he was 10. It was scary at first because back then they didn't know if it was cancerous until it was out. I am hoping that with my current treatment, the scar will fade quite quickly. Charlize Theron had surgery on her vertebrae and has a high scar on her neck too.
