Carole, it's funny that you're wishing your dress didn't have sleeves... I have been thinking I need a long sleeve LBD (but in another color). I think any dress is going to have it's styling limitations. Mine, being a higher neckline really limits what I can layer underneath. I loved the sassy look of Renata's short sleeve LBD, and I am wanting the warmth factor of a longsleeve dress like yours, as well as the fact that my very favorite necklines are v-neck.
So, it's about working with what you have!

Queenie, just saw your photos and you look great in every example: My fav is 7996, I like the long cardigan and color with your LBD! But also loved 8002,8010,7999,7580. I never thought of wearing a sweater over my LBD, love that! You've given me more ideas. I have to say after this exercise I went to sleep thinking of more ways to work it! I love stuff like this! I just wish my dress didn't have sleeves, it would be a little easier to work like you have done here...thanks for all the effort!

thanks so much ladies for the kind words. I was having so much fun with this it was hard to stop. even after posting I was thinking of other things to try.

Yublocka- go find one and start playing. the only reason I had it was because I had to find something for my MIL's funeral last May. It had short sleeves (that hit right above my bust) and I never felt quite right about them, so a while back I took the sleeves off and it was instant love for me ;-)

Angie- I'm honored by your words. I do love to wear dresses, I have such a hard time finding dresses that give the right vibe for my casual lifestyle. But I am on a mission to find more dresses, in fact, I had already decided that this summer is going to be the summer of the dress for me

I'm glad you all like 7996- I put that together a couple months ago one Sunday morning, but didn't quite feel right for church- I ended up putting my black skinnies under it and felt much more covered. My husband and I have a dinner to go to next week though, and I think I'll wear that. (unless I decide to go more festive- what do you guys think?)

anyhow, thanks to Hanna for the challenge- I'd been meaning to have a LBD dress rehearsal for a while, so this was my excuse to play!

inspiring! thanks for posting all the pics instead of just some. i'd have to agree with the ones above who said 7996. very flattering. i love the first one, too, 7999. it reads arty to me, which i like a lot. you've definitely created a lot of different moods with one dress. good thing you have pics to remember them all!

What variety! It all looks good, but my favorites are #7996 followed by #7580.

Thank you for giving us so many ideas to play with. The long tunic in #7580 is something I want to try.

thanks ladies- you're both so sweet. it really was fun just trying anything I thought might work.
those are 2 different pairs of jeans actually. the second outfit is with bootcut, but the later outfit with the belt is with straight leg jeans- and they are longer, so I have higher heeled shoes on. that is probably why you liked one and not the other

Wow, Queenie! You did a great job working that LBD. My faves are #1, #8, #12 and #13. It looks terrific dressed up and down. The jean jacket looks are perfect MOTG! I would never have thought of layering with the crochet tunic top--it looks great that way too. It's hard to believe it's the same dress--it looks good both belted and unbelted.

I'm curious to what others think about the second look with the bootcuts--the dress seems a bit too long in that combination yet I love it layered and belted in the last few pictures. Perhaps it's just the camera angle. You out did yourself. What a terrific LBD challenge! WTG!

Wow, that was fun! I should have been cleaning my house, but instead I played dress up with my LBD. I just made a link to my photostream page which has all of the looks I put together. You can click on any picture to see it bigger. For some reason I don't know how to rearrange the order of the pics on the page, so you'll see some outfits where I took a close up of part of it not next to it's mate- oh well, I figure you are all intelligent women and can make sense of it all.

So, give me the rundown on what is fab and what's a flop. I didn't edit any pics out- this was all of my attempts, so you're not going to hurt my feelings. I did wear 2 of the outfits this past weekend though, so if they're flops it's a tad to late ;-0

And, I didn't organize them into formal, hang out, date night, etc... and I have never in my life worked in an office, so none of my looks were an attempt at office wear.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/4.....nelayout=1

Thanks so much for your feedback ladies. I"m excited to bring this dress out to play alot!
