My finger turned blue in the attempt. My husband said not to mess with it and that we would have to go to the ER in the morning to have it cut off!! Heck, no. MY mom taught me how to take rings off at an early age: she has an exquisite collection of diamond rings and I was allowed to wear one on a special occasion. However her ring size was almost a size smaller than mine. DH had me try Vaseline and oil-no go. Then I quietly locked myself in the bathroom an twisted it slowly from side to side to push over the swollen knuckle and voila! It worked. Hubby is a catastrophizer when it comes to me.
