I've spent two March(s) in Northern Italy and was durn freezing cold both times. I was in full coat, scarf and hat mode but maybe I'm more sensitive to cold than most.

I love the idea of combining Spring-like prints and colors with bright, cheery gloves, scarves, etc. to keep you warm. Ooooohh and self-colored patterned hosiery too! They have the most fabulous hosiery shops in Italy with incredible patterned stockings. As I recall, they didn't come cheap, but oh, how heavenly they were!

Thanks Alicia and Angie. I am back in Seattle now -- teaching, writing my dissertation and taking care of my mom whose had some health problems recently. All of which have been quite time consuming. I would like to post outfits again but never seem to be able to take photographs. In the meantime, I'm still learning a lot from seeing everyone else's outfits.

Hi AJ, I think about you a lot. Are you still overseas? I'm assuming yes since you'll be heading to Italy. That sounds like fun. How are your studies going?

Low 50s still seems quite cool for me. In that temperature, I tend to still wear winter clothes but try to bring in some spring feel with the accessories (scarves, necklaces, purses). I should acknowledge that I find spring particularly frustrating so I may not be the best person to be giving advice.

Hello everyone! I haven't been active on the forum for quite a while but I have been a faithful reader.

I'm facing my annual difficulty of figuring out how to transition to spring (fall always seems so much easier). Spring can be quite cool in Seattle but for April I always pack away my woollens and start wearing my warm yet spring colored clothes.

However, I am trying to plan a capsule wardrobe for a conference in Italy (woo-hoo!) in late March. The temperature will be in the low 50s. I don't want to look full on wintery but it seems a bit early to look full on spring.

I thought Angie wrote a post about transitioning to spring last year but I couldn't find it. Should I wear winter outfits with a touch of spring color? Or should I wear warmer but spring like outfits? Any advice is appreciated!
