Thanks Tanya. I live in Missouri, and I'm not sure if we have Benetton here. I've never heard of it before, so I doubt it. It can't hurt to check online though. Hm, most of my camis have adjustable straps too; they just don't go short enough for me. I can always shorten the straps though.

Thank you Sarah! I am doing this for similar reasons, to try to wear nicer outfits on a daily basis and to hear opinion from all the great gals here such as yourself!
I'll try to do this every week.

The purple top is from Benetton, it's an Italian brand that has stores all over US. They are kind of an Italian version of Banana Republic, if I may say so. I don't know where you live, but if you go to their website there's a store locator and you can search to see if they have one in your city.
Most of my camis are from Express, and they have adjustable straps, like bra straps, so I typically adjust them so that they are shortest possible, to avoid any cleavage at work. They do have an annoying shelf bra, but i just cut it off!

Can't wait to see your pictures !

Great idea Tanya! I may have to do a photobucket album for what I wear every day of the week. Knowing that you all will see it would definitely encourage me to spend more time on outfit choices and not just throw something on last minute like I tend to do some days. I’ve been trying to get away from that habit and dress nicely every day though, not just on special occasions and when I’m performing.

I love your Monday purple top. That’s the kind of shirts I need. No more baggy stuff. I’ve never heard of the store it’s from though, or is it a designer name? I almost never look at tags and name brands. I really like the lilac top too. I have a pattern for one like that, but never get around to sewing since I’m in school. Oh well. I love the way your camis fit. Mine are all too low cut, and with my “concave”/sunken sternum, that doesn’t work well. Camis and low tops tend to gap away form my body and show my bra. Perhaps my camis need altering. I’ll have to post some photos of my own this upcoming week. Fantastic outfits! And you have the perfect figure.

Hmm....I usually take a Medium in VS stuff, and that fits me pretty well. I usually wear an 8 in dresses, but at ATL I wear a 4! If it's similar to ATL, I might order a 6 and see how it goes. Thanks for the tip!

Macys dresses are always on super sale. Check out the petite dresses too - they will be tunics for you. I bought a $228 dress for $31 last week. Crazy! I promptly returned it because it had a tear in the back that I could not fix.

Tanya, there is NOTHING unflattering about those last set of pics. On the contrary. I echo Shiny, enjoy your lovely body!

Ana, I'd say that the dress is slightly big, but the sleeves are tight! The one on the picture is a size 0, and I'm certainly not a 0 ( according to VS size chart, I'm 4/6)! I originally bought 2, but it was too big around the waist, and when belted it bunched weirdly, and the shoulder seam was a bit too big as well. So the 0 is fine, but that band on the sleeve is pretty tight around my arm. But it buttons, so I can always unbutton it and roll the sleeve. I'd say that the sizing is very comparable to ATL, maybe just a bit smaller.

Antje, I'll check out Express. I actually already have a black rayon jersey shirtdress, but it hits me at the knee and I am not too sure if it's not too long to wear over skinnies.

Very cute dress, Tanya, I like it! Also, Express has a super sale on their winter shirt dresses right now, which look awesome with skinnies. The colors are definitely winter and fall colors (I saw black ones, fuchsia, a black and white patterned one, and an animal print one in lilac/black/white), but with the right accessories I think they can go into spring for a while. I'm still wearing my black one, but now use lighter colored accessories, e.g. yellow, to brighten it up.
They are just $19 (originally cost around $80, if I remember correctly) but they didn't have many left when I went there last week.

Well, if I find a pair I'll certainly let you know Maya although I don't know if I'll be actively looking for them. My "want" list is currently about 10 times bigger than my "can-afford" list. Plus, I don't currently own any other tunics ( well other than one that's more of a evening look) or short dresses to go with skinnies, and I don't feel like buying that many things that need more other things to work with them, if you know what I mean. The safari dress was kind of an accident, I ordered it because I wanted to wear it on it's own, but it turned out to be too short for it. Maybe I'll try to get just one more shirtdress of a similar length. I like this one, but not it's price:
http://www.searlenyc.com/store/product1593.html

I have to admit that in the winter I did wear my skinnies with shorter tops (like on the pics), but always tucked into boots -somehow that balanced things. Plus I did layer a shorter, sligthly swingy cardi or jacket over, and that helped the matters as well.

I saw those today and I really wanted to get them, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it because I know they wouldn't fit the same way in a few weeks...even a few days. I am so miffed that they don't make a size 0. If their jeans grow THAT much, they ought to go as small as possible.

I have the DKNY skinny jeans and they have quite a high rise in the back (can't measure right now as I'm at work). As discussed before, the DKNY denim quality isn't the best and you'd want to go down a size. But I love how mine fit. They are skinnies, but not ultra skinny. I personally don't do the scrunchy look; I just let them go straight down to my ballet flats (I only wear them with flats, not with heels, so one length works great.)
I think I got them at Macy's (last year).

I don't think most women look great in skinnies if the top is short, other than the ultra slim and boyish.

(If your thighs are touching it's only bc your legs are together...it'd be kind of freaky if they didn't).

I would also like to get some higher rise skinnies so if you find a pair, let me know. I am saving my pennies for higher rise bootcuts and higher rise straight or skinny jeans. I'm shooting for 13" in the back.

Love the leopard print flats, I have some similar ones

Not unflattering at all. But I do generally think that skinnies are best with long tops. Your safari dress look is superb, and I'd look for other long tunics or short dresses to wear with the skinnies. I'm an hourglass as well (but shorter and with less waist and more belly than you ;-)) and I would never wear my skinnies with regular length tops. It just focuses the eye way too much on the hip area. So, the skinnies fit you very well, but go with longer tops to make the look sleeker, would be my input.

Thanks a lot ladies, but things are nearly not as perfect as those photos make them look. Actually, mu thighs are touching ( quite a bit), just the dress covers that. I also have dreaded 'saddle bags' on my hips. So I am very hesitant to wear skinnies with shorter tops, because of the size difference of my thighs and calves.
I own just two pairs of skinnies, those you saw and a black pair( both 'straight leg skinnies'), and both have too low a rise and bunch of other issues.
I think I'll post pics of them soon. If you still think I can wear skinnies, than I might be willing to invest in a nicer pair with a higher rise.

Well Tanya, you have done me proud. LOVE your Angie inspired outfit (hope that doesn’t sound conceited). Tunics and dresses over jeans are uniform in my wardrobe so I’m especially partial to this ensemble. I’ve been wearing this look for almost a decade. Very satisfying to have inspired someone else (smiling).

You’ve got your interesting layered look down. And have the tiniest waistline in the world! The scarf and cream jacket look especially wonderful. Well done. I really like you in straight leg jeans. They make your legs go on forever. And the Keds are adorable. Can’t wait to see more of stylish you!
