LOVE #1!! That is so much fun I broke into a genuine smile. Your daughter should definitely be on your wardrobe staff.

#2 is great, too. I was happy to read of Kari's partial solution because I really don't now how to deal with this problem myself and somewhat avoided layering dresses over shirts for that exact reason. I would use a T underneath...but sometimes you really want that crisp collar and cuffs thing going on.

Celia -- both are crisp, modern looks. I adore the dots with the stripes, and don't really consider it ALGO, since it's still such a clean, graphic look. #2 is strong and classy. I hear you with the puffer coat!

yay.my daughter loves to put outfits together with my clothes while I am working. This way we will both be happy.
As christieanne said kids are great pattern mixers because they don't have grown up rules.

Kari I pushed my thights as high as i could and stuffed the shirt into it.At least people know it us the buttons.

I think kids are the best pattern mixers and we should always take their advice to heart on fashion. They have not yet succumbed to the "rules" or gone safe in their opinions. Definitely a master mix!

I like the dress combo but not sure on the button thing sorry.

Celia, #1 just knocked my socks off. The pattern mixing is fabulous, and I applaud your daughter's decision to add the scarf too ( though it also works with the striped top and polka dot cardi sans scarf.)

I really love the dress in the second outfit. I have the same struggle when I layer a button down under a knit dress, and one thing that worked for me was to tuck the shirt into my hose to keep the shirt from rumpling up, and it also made the buttons less visible.

Your daughter's a master mixer! No help on the buttons, sorry, except to suggest thicker knits or covered buttons (you know the kind of shirt that has an extra placket *over* the buttons? that might be marginally better).

Hello YLF,

I didn't do it on purpose but I am glad this two outfits are together. This way you know that the boots I wore with #1 were the ones I wore in #2.

Outfit #1 for better or worse I have to say that it was DD that added the polka dot scarf to the outfit. Personally I thought it looked cool. What do you think of thus ALGO look? Should I consult DD this season on how to ix prints?

Outfit #2 this is my I know it is colder but i refuse to bring back my puffer coat outfit.it felt better than it actually Photographed.I am wearing my sheer pattern black stockings and the shirt us my flower printed one.
Although this dress is by no means tight you can see the buttons of the shirt.do you have any advice on how to get a cleaner look?

Hope you have a nice weekend.
Thank you for looking.
