You guys are precious. I am feeling a little better, although completely wiped from work. The silver linings are that I do this every year, so I already know the setting, the activities and so on, and that with your advice at hand packing will be a little bit more fun Also we're driving our car (I live in Italy) and it'a a big multispace, so I have all the room I want. I will let you know how I've handled it, in the meantime, thank you!!

Great advice above. This isn't really a quick packing tip, but I would suggest including at least one really warm sweater or jacket and maybe a cashmere shawl/scarf and umbrella. My European trios are always colder and wetter than I expect. And don't sweat it, if you forget anything you have an excuse to shop in France.

My packing strategy is to figure out what I'll be doing on vacation and then actually pack an outfit for each activity. That way I don't end up with a bunch of random pieces that don't make the outfits I need.

I have a travel packing board on Pinterest that might help: http://www.pinterest.com/mrskp.....obe-ideas/

My only advice is to mix up everyone's clothes among the different suitcases (ie - not one suitcase per person) that way if any bag gets lost no one is left with no clothes. We always do that on the way to a destination. On the way home it doesn't matter.

Have a great trip!

Do Ornella's plan. Buy toothpaste and so forth when you get there.

Remember your PASSPORT, SECOND ID, AND TICKETS AND CREDIT CARDS.

AND YOUR MEDS.

Hehe. These things happen in the thick of things.

I like Ornelia's plan above. Choose a neutral or two and plan around that palette so that so that you can mix and match. Throw in a few scarves or T's in accent colors to brighten things up a bit (they are easy to pack).
Enjoy your trip!

This is not a problem, honestly.

I'm sorry I didn't do my post-travel packing post yet (ETA: managed to take some photos earlier today, will post them later ), it might have been of help, but here is what I had for 2 weeks.

Think neutral colours, that will give you most options or limit colours to one or two only. Mix and match will get you far.

3 different bottoms (jeans in maybe two different styles or one style you feel comfy in, plus ponte skirt) or 4 if you have room
3-4 tops that can easily layer over each other if gets too cold (2 sweaters, 1 teeshirt or casual style top, 1 button down shirt, chambray shirt?)
1 jacket that goes with everything (for me that's leather jacket)
1 backup jacket
1 cardigan
maybe a comfy (ponte?) dress

3-4 pairs of shoes - comfort is a must for them all

scarf or two to add colour/pattern

denim and black bottoms -as they will mix and match with any tops that you pack. lots of white tops suitable for layering. most importantly put the bra's and panties in 1st. when I'm stressed and packing for a trip, i seem to forgot them because I'm so focused on the "harder" stuff.

Oh, that sounds stressful! I would pack nothing complicated and rely on my FFBOs, stuff I know works and in which I'm comfortable. Probably go for neutrals first, to make sure everything goes together.

Hello ladies! Ishouldn't even be posting, but I need some commiseration and I hope I don't get caught We have had this monster deadline pushed up at work. It was scheduled for June: it's now within the week. The thing is, we are leaving for France (a 2 week trip, work for the grownups, vacation for the kids who are going to be with grandma) on Sunday morning, and I have been working non-stop for weeks and could do no planning or actual packing at all. On Saturday I have my much needed hair appointment, then a little necessary shopping, and in the afternoon my nephew's birthday party. It looks like I will spend my Saturday night packing for four people. The children should be easily sorted, my husband should do his own packing if he wants to be fashionable (he doesn't), and for myself I will be basically be throwing my favorite spring stuff in, trying not to pick tops that go with no bottoms and vice versa. So much for strategy! What would you do? Any life saving tips from quick packers?
