The Jaspers are taller than they look (about 2.75") -- so if you plan on wearing the boots with bootcuts or flares you need to make sure the height works.</p> <p>As far as Eurochic goes, I think the Madrona would be more Eurochic, for reasons others have mentioned. I like these styles in the desert color; to me the black gives connotations of combat boots (not that that's a bad thing, I would just rather get combat boots if I were getting black lace-ups). The reason is actually that I much prefer my granny boots to be slightly higher on the ankle, more of a mid-calf than ankle boot. It really shows off a nice slim ankle shape with the lacing, and looks great under skirts and dresses.</p> <p>Tarzy, a running joke in my family is that I am still wearing the same type of shoes that I was wearing when I was in high school (in the mid 90's) - vintage-y looking oxfords and granny boots.
