Thanks Christine and Annagybe. I decided I'd really like to get a non-black skirt. I'm going to check with my tailor to see what it would cost for her to sew one (it might be very affordable based on my experience with her); otherwise I'll have to wait till spring skirts flood the stores. We shall see...

If you find a great deal on a black lace skirt, it would be a fairly easy alteration to change the lining to a vibrant color. I have no idea how much it would cost, but I know that with my intermediate sewing skills I wouldn't have a problem changing the lining of a skirt, especially if it was a slip type lining (not attached at the hem).

Good luck!

I found one on DKNY.com

http://www.dkny.com/nshop/prod.....sandShorts

It seems to have a fuschia base.

I'll keep my eyes peeled! A midnight blue lace skirt sounds devine.

Antje, a few years back, in the spring season, I bought a coral-colored lace skirt at Banana Republic. Watch what they start bringing out for spring at BR - I think they definitely carry lace skirts during this season.

Antje, you and I are on the same page. I've been eyeing two black lace pencil skirts (one Ann Taylor, one Banana) on eBay. New with tags, very affordable. Unfortunately, they are black and cream, not a rich, vibrant color as you are seeking. I have seen a similar style in gold before, but that is likely not vibrant enough. I'll keep watching for you, though.

I'm interested in a lace pencil skirt in a rich color, maybe red, cobalt or midnite blue, fuchsia. I haven't actually seen one anywhere; my searches only bring up black or cream styles. Has anyone come across one by any chance?
The other option would be a black or cream one with the inner skirt in a bright color, like this: http://www1.bloomingdales.com/.....Kro3VP0YJg
Any and all pointers appreciated... Thanks!
