Mochi, the zipper top is simply outstanding on you (!)

(And Angie's advice on the jeans is fascinating... I imagine I'd have the same issue.)

I bought the Kut Catherine boyfriend jeans and returned them right away. They were huge on me, had a lot of stretch and were super baggy around the waist. I hope Angie's NYDJ suggestion works for you.

Oh, Angie, thank you and hugs. NYDJ is a brand I'd forgotten to mention, that tends to work well for me. I love these! The cropped length especially.

The Dianas are cut for curvier hips and thighs. Nancy, you need a much straighter cut in jeans. A wider waist and slimmer hip and thigh fit. A smaller size in these is not the answer.

But my word, do I love that Ted Baker tee on you. It's going to look gorgeous with the scarf.

I think you might like the fit of these actually.

Thanks, everyone. I agree, these are cut way big. The funny thing is that I do usually have no problem getting the fit right for skinnies. At least with Gap, Joe's Jeans, even J.Crew with one pair. As long as I'm willing to accept a snug waist (and I'd have to belt for snugness if it weren't already there--I have no hips to hold up the pants if they start creeping down. I literally need them to be a little tight to prevent a wardrobe malfunction, lol.)

These are not going to work. I guess I can try a 14 and even a 12 (doubtful about the waist, but who knows--the 16 waist is on the brink of being too big. I guess I have no idea, being an apple, what a pair of pants are supposed to fit like.

I won't comment on the jeans but I love the burgundy top, it's flattering, interesting and I would imagine quite versatile. The floral is just no camparison IMHO.

The Dianas didn't work for me either. I think skinny jeans are the toughest fit for us apples because they need to be so fitted everywhere. In a pair of boyfriend jeans I can fudge a bit of extra ease in the hips and legs to get a decent waist, but with skinnies that throws off the entire look.

I really appreciate it when online retailers show the clothes laying flat, not on a model, in one shot, so I can tell how they're really cut. For skinnies to fit me like skinnies they need to look comical, almost like a pair of pants for a toddler, then I know I've hit paydirt.

KUT runs really, really big. I don't have the Dianas but have tried them on, and like the other styles that I own, they fit in a size 6. I usually wear a 10 in pants!

So anyway. Yeah, too big. I might try a 14 or even 12 although prob in your case the waist fit will be the limiting factor.

Love the burgundy TEd baker top!

I think the floral is still a pass, fit wise, although I still think the print is gorgeous on you. Fingers crossed the scarf works!

Thanks again for your insights, Suz. In pics 3-7 I did a crude roll-up job to approximate the right length.

I'm guessing the 16 is just cut huge overall. Most of my skinny jeans are fairly snug in the calf. Definitely not this baggy.

I could comfortably size down to a 14, I believe, but not sure how the overall fit would improve. I suppose it's worth a try; these are nice jeans. But I wouldn't raise my hopes.

Re the rosy shirt, I guess it's going back. I wouldn't want to be relying on a cami with it anyway.

Nancy -- online shopping is never easy!! But I think you're doing great.

First, on the Dianas...it is really, really, really difficult to judge jeans at the wrong length. The DIanas are not an "ultra" or calf sucking skinny. Even on me, they're not. (My calves aren't super wide by any means, but for whatever reason, I seem to have the calf-sucking problem a lot on my skinny pants, more than many people.) Some people might consider them closer to a straight because the bottom opening is a bit wider than on many super stretchy skinnies.

But you can't tell how it looks when there's so much excess fabric. Can you try rolling them to the approximate length you'd wear them? Even just rolling under. They might be too long to do that effectively with (been there) but you'll get at least a clearer approximation. I have a feeling they might actually work for you. At the right length. I've tried on jeans many times where they looked kind of like this until the fiddled with the length.

Re the floral tee -- still love the colours on you, but think this one is too snug. It seems you might be between sizes on it. Sigh. A cami would prevent grinning, but the size issue is another matter.

The V top looks amazing on you! Wow!! What a great find. I like the vertical line.

I wish these were a keeper. They look so great on other fabbers. I'm wondering if sizing down is an option, or if I should just move on. The sturdy material and color are what I love. They're supposed to be skinnies. I don't have the smallest calves in the world, and they are baggy. I know my height is throwing the proportions off (plus the fact that I'll need to get them altered, if I keep). But this amount of bagginess for a skinny jean?

If you see in the pics, the waist fits really well at a 16. Not sure about the rest, and what would happen if I went to a 14. I am accustomed to jeans fitting more snugly in the waist, but overall is it going to be more streamlined? I suspect no.

Sigh. It's soooo much fun to be a petite apple : D

And moving on, I sized down in the Ted Baker tee and while the fit is better here, the colors are lovely, etc., I'm hesitant because in the end it's kind of sheer and you can see the grinning. Let me know your thoughts--I know some of you are happy with this piece.

To "replace" it, I took Suz's advice and have on back order a scarf with a similar pattern and colors. It's not going to have the same function as a shirt, obviously, and I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of it, but I'll give it a go. They are beautiful colors.

Finally, not an Angie pick and I found this Ted Baker V-neck top by total surprise (on someone's blog), but I love it. I'll be honest, it's snug in the bust, but it's manageable for me and I don't care, it's my favorite thing from NAS and I'm keeping it. :)

Hope you're all enjoying your stuff : ) xoxo
