That's one of my favorite colors so I can see why you hang onto it. I have an Old navy cargo vest in that color I keep and keep and never wear!

Go for the right olive jacket then. In the meantime, while looking, you could force yourself to wear it three times and see if an olive jacket is useful in reality? I relate to the part about forgetting to use things (or delaying beginning to wear things), so I'm trying to make myself, then I should be more able to K/R/T.

I should add that sometimes I can be really absentminded and disorganized and will just forget about items in my wardrobe that I actually enjoy. I won't wear them for months and then will suddenly remember and start wearing them again.

That said, I do think you all are right that there is something a bit off about this jacket. I think the weird elastic panel thingy on the back is bugging me too in addition to the fit issues. Honestly, I think the reason I've kept it thus far is that I like the olive color as a neutral. But perhaps this means I should just ditch this one and look for a better olive jacket!

The fit seems off to me - a little too large in the armholes and shoulders and snug in the middle. It also appears a bit too severely cropped with the second button too close to the bottom. And the sleeves are far too long. Overall, I think you could do better, and if you haven't been wearing it then you don't feel fab in it.

I agree with Krista. It just does not seem to suit you, and I think you are right, that it does not fit right buttoned.

The fact that you are not really wearing it is also telling. You don't feel fab in it, so it doesn't deserve a spot in your closet.

If you are hesitant to part with it, put it in a maybe bag in an out of the way area. If you ever go dig for it, then you know it is a keeper. If you don't go looking for it, then donating it gives the jacket a second life.

I'm with Diana, not feelin' the jacket love. Something just seems not quite right at the front. But it doesn't sound like you're all that attached to it anyway, so I say toss.

LOVE the new skirt though! Great find!

I'll be honest, Diana - I am not loving this jacket. You have posted many other beautiful items (like your handknits!) that I think are much more suited to you and your style. I hate to be the first to reply and say "toss!", but that is my respectful suggestion.

The skirt is super cute, btw. I look forward to seeing all of the different ways you will style it!

I've had this jacket in my closet for a while and rarely wear it. I feel like it may be slightly too long or slightly too big. This looks odd closed (the stance is too low, and so the bottom button hits at my high hip and is very tight there) so it's either to be worn open or not at all. What do you think? Keep or toss? ETA: It's more olive and less brown IRL.

ETA2: I found a one and only WIW photo with this jacket. You can also see the weird fit when it is closed here.

PS- the skirt in these photos is a consignment score from today! I finally dragged myself to the cobbler to get my DV laceup boots fixed (*pats self on back*) and the fancypants consignment store next door was having a huge sale. It has a weird tied bubbly hem that I adore.
