Angie, Aida, Laura and unfrumped, thank you for your input. My office attire is not casual. Not business formal (i.e. no suits, blazers) but also no jeans and no sandals, even on Fridays. I will try pairing it with the denim/chambray. I'll see how much wear I actually get out of it in the next few months with these new outfit ideas before I decide to donate or give away. Thanks so much!!

I like keeping a really cool summery almost beachy vibe-agree with lightweight and natural slightly unpolished fabrics like the suggested chambray, cotton, linen and in soft or washed colors. It doesn't play as well with rayon or polyester, jewel tones or standard office wear. Wearing to work would depend on degree of casualness accepted, as noted, and I'd emphasize not trying to " force" it to play the role you'd expect of, say, a neutral pencil skirt, with polished tops and office flats or heels, but see if you have things that embrace the casual vibe and add to figure-flattery. If that's not worth the investment and/ or won't work for work you'll be closer to knowing whether to keep it.

I like 4 a lot - the looser but tucked look really works with this skirt imo. A chambray top would be super cute, I agree.

I think it's worth keeping! I love #1, 4 and 7; I am much preferring the tucked tops with this. And agree with Angie that this skirt would work perfectly in a casually styled outfit.

Great!

This depends entirely on your office, Kathy. With cute sandals and chambray, it could be a fab Friday look.

Thanks, Angie! I have a denim shirt that I can try. So do you think I can make it work for the office or too casual?

How about a denim or chambray shirt and casual shoes? I like linen best worn very casually, and that's a super little skirt.

Shabbychick, Claire, and Jem, thanks for weighing in.

Claire, I had not thought of belting. I will try that as i am belly conscious also. Too hot right now for a denim jacket and I don't own any vests. Thank you for the styling ideas!

I have 3 white skirts and styling them can be tricky, but I don't think you should give up on this one! I like the tops tucked in (the printed ones would be cute with a denim jacket on top. Also, have you tried belting on top of an untucked shirt? I am super sensitive about having a wide swathe of white across my mid-section and an untucked shirt covers part of it while the belt defines a waist. Another idea is to wear a body-con T shirt (navy and white striped or something) again untucked, and pop a vest on top for some structure. Ahem, which is exactly what I happen to be wearing today with my white skirt, lol! Have fun with it and good luck.

I'm still purging things from my closet that don't fit or are not worn anymore for a variety of reasons. I came across this linen skirt from Ann Taylor that's at least 6-7 years old if not more. I haven't worn it in at least 4 years since my last move.

I tried pairing it with several tops to see if it would work. Please ignore the red shoes. I threw them on for the first top and I was too lazy to change.

1. Red sleeveless top ... also a closet orphan :(
2-3. Ann Taylor top untucked and tucked
4. Loft chevron shell
5. Express blouse
6-7. Old Navy animal print blouse untucked and tucked
8. Jjill purple silk blouse
9. Blue buttoned shirt (trying to channel Angie with the scrunched sleeves :-)
10. Close up of the skirt. The wrinkles really bug me which maybe another factor why it is an orphan.

So, what say you, ladies? Do any of these work or should I bid adieu to my poor little orphaned skirt once and for all.
