I have a ratty black cashmere sweater I finally had to part with. After a respectable life with my mum attending sensible events, it was passed on to me. During its 7 year retirement it survived three field seasons in Greece, plus countless other adventures. But both elbows had holes and the armpits and neck were unravelling, it was sadly time to go.
