I worried that mine were too big, but I need a coat that fits over a blazer or suit jacket...which these do! Diana, I live in Rhode Island so, the same climate as you. I have really long arms so that length was OK for me but I think the sleeves could be folded back for someone with shorter arms. The fabric is luxurious. I don't button the collar up close. I bought two Burberry cashmere scarves ( with my Nordstrom notes!) that cost twice as much as the coats...or more...and I use them to fill in the neckline. I have super poison eye for too short sleeves (bracelet length sleeves make me cringe) so I have a tendency to buy all my sleeves too long. But I think Una is right that it's the length plus the width that's overwhelming. Hopefully the sleeves on the petite are like one inch shorter and not three! Because if it's the latter I'm going to choose the regular. </p> <p>Sharan, the back does pouch a bit even without my arms up so I think the back really is a bit too long. The extra fabric in back looks to me as if it's from raising your arm with the camera. And it looks good open--not too big. So I'd say this is the right size. Sleeves are a little long but I prefer them long rather than short. I'm absolutely not keeping it. The arms are TOO SHORT. I know some people will think they look fine but they are majorly triggering my poison eye (a lot of it is feel, too). It's particularly bad if I raise my arms. Plus the body is shorter and I much prefer the longer length and more flared look of the regular. </p> <p>I'm still undecided about whether the regular is too big though. I'll post better pics with a real camera and timer and better lighting this weekend. </p>
