Hm, I will need to re-evaluate these boots. The size seems fine (it's my regular size) but there is a bit of rubbing (not slipping) going on, and that concerns me. I got a good deal on them because this pair was the only one left, in a color I really love. All of my boots kind of slip--they do not rub at all. It does sound like you may want to try the next size up. The Harness fit like my other Fryes except that the leather is stiffer in the toe box. Thank you for your nice comments and I imagine the Veronicas look great on you too--our styles are very similar. I recall gushing over your WIW’s :)  @Alicat: Thank you for the Docs love. They are so fun to wear! Davey sends purrs to George. @Lisa: lol--I’m always dreaming about the “next” boot. The one thing about Fryes is I don’t know that I will ever wear them out. They are so well made that I better love them for a long time! These are versatile--they look better tucked than the Carsons and can be worn with bootcuts. Win win! Great point about the lighter colored jeans with the folded cuff. Perhaps I will try the grey denim with the light sweater as Inge had suggested in my last “fail” Lynnea post. @Ornelia: Thanks! I didn’t knit those either--a friend knit them for me. The new bomber and Gap sweater are both nice.  I would prefer to see the cuffed down Uggs and light sweater paired with a lighter pant so it's not such a harsh break up of color. That's normal for Fryes, and goes away once the boot molds to your foot a little more. I just adore your style and you know that since I say that every time I comment. lol But I hear you on the boots. I have the Veronicas here right now, and I believe it may have been your influence. I love them on you and on so many of the members here, but am not sure they look all that good on me. But regardless of that, they rub my heel a little bit and since the leather is quite heavy and thick, I am afraid they may turn out not as comfortable as I was hoping for. I need to walk around the house with them as you are doing to reach a decision. They are too costly to be a mistake! You are the best!  @Caro: I hear you. I’m going to wear them around the house for a little while and see how they feel. Once they are on my feet, they feel fine. They feel most clunky when I first slip them on. Thanks! @pil: Yes, I can knit but I have the attention span of a gnat. No sweaters for me or mine--at least until things slow down. Thanks for the thumbs up on the boots and bomber :) @pastrygirl: Thank you. The leather is thick--way more substantial than my Carsons. I have a feeling they will break in.  The brown tunic sweater is a wool blend Tommy Hilfiger. It’s a little on the itchy side and I usually wear it layered over a long sleeve tee but it was too warm.  @Ceit: Your research on boot toe shapes helped me pull the trigger. Thanks! @Una: Thanks! I’m undecided on the sweater. I agree that it does add bulk. I tried a bunch of these styles but they were either poor fabrications, shed like my cat or looked to matronly. This one seems like a winner in comparison (not very PPP, I know!) @Aquamarine: Thank you. Great to hear more feedback on the Harness. I’m really tempted to keep especially now that I know the toe will soften. It’s really the only part that feels stiff--the sole is quite cushy. Glad that my MOTG is appreciated :) @sarah: Thank you! IKWYM about the rolled down Uggs. I prefer them up but am trying ever so hard to wear them like I had imagined--even if I have to acquire new wardrobe pieces to bend them to my will! I think you are on to something about the curves. I think the straight lines cut me into bricks. That’s probably why I’m not crazy about the brown tunic. I love the color of the Fryes. I wanted something other than  black and the reddish brown seems to pick up the highlights in my hair. I really feel like bootcuts are my best friend and I’m trying to wear them before the weather gets icky (for CA.) It’s just so much easier to wear skinnies and stompy boots--such a FFBO since I don’t have to worry about perfect pant length. I will definitely try the bomber with different necklines. I have some ideas already. No one is more surprised than me that I’m still trying to make the folded boots work--I’m usually pretty quick to give up on these kind of things. I’m still undecided on the sweater too. Thanks for asking about my achilles. It’s been six months and I’ve been cleared to do some gentle jogging in addition to all the other rehab I’ve been doing. It’s been a long slog but I feel like I’m on track to be “normal” pre-injury by the one year mark. I love #1 on you - for several reasons:  1) The color is gorgeous against your complexion and hair color, 2) The v-neckline draws the eye down and "slims down"  your shoulders/IT shape, and 3) the bootleg jeans balance out your shoulder line.  Its just brilliant!  (Oh - and I think the Fryes work seamlessly with your style.)  Have you tried the Halogen jacket with a colorless top?  I'm curious how that would look on you?  The blue color is also an outstanding one for your coloring.  I'm not as crazy about the cabled sweater - to me it looks too bulky on your frame - its probably that my eye is just not trained to appreciate this look!  I'm also not a fan of rolled down boots - but I really like the Uggs when you wear them "up."  Also, the navy top in #6 is wonderful on you!  Great set of outfits!  (How's your foot/achillies tendon?) That sweater is an Angie sweater rec from Express many seasons ago. It has worn really well. Glad the boots get a thumbs up--the Fryes and the Uggs folded. The Halogen was something I picked up at the Rack for a song. I loved the color and thought the fit was good--it’s comfy and warmer than my navy blazer. I think it will work with my sassy navy sneaks too. (I’m loathe to go back to return it because I always end up finding something else to buy!) It's PM which is unusual for me--I'm usually regular on top. I was primarily wondering if the fit was odd or not.  @Amiable: You are so sweet! I feel kind of bad about posting because of my personal time shortage but I wanted to get back to you on my Fryes (photo 1/2.) I haven't cut the tags yet but I'm inclined to keep unless you can talk me out of 'em. They aren't as comfy right off the bat like my Carson pull ons but they do seem like they will break in. TTS--last picture shows the color off the best. Photo 3/4: Halogen Boucle Bomber Photo 5: Gap cabled sweater. Yes, I'm too lazy to knit my own but I applaud Diana My intention was to find a less bulky one than last years Gap sweater that I could wear with the Ugg's folded down--still trying to boss those boots around.
