My vision is probably strong enough I could do it too, but I get such a ferocious headache from the strain it wouldn't be worth it by the end of the night. Instead I keep a bunch of disposable contacts available if I need them... hopefully they are all still good and not dried out. I've been having so much fun with my new glasses this year I haven't been wearing contacts at all! </p> <p>Joy, I think I've lucked out in that I haven't really gone down a size in my shoes, but I do think some of the cheaper leather shoes in my closet have gotten too stretched out. I wore the heel insert in the black pumps today and that appears to have done the trick without ripping up my hose or making the fit too weird, but I am worried about the plaid peeptoes. I might try the whole insert, but it might squeeze the toes too much. I will continue to experiment and see if they can't be salvaged. Thanks for the ideas!</p> <p>Jean and Tam, thank you for specifically mentioning the blue patterned dress! I love the fit and look of it on me, but then I always think it looks weird in the photos. Before you give up on the shoes, try a full length insert, not just heel or ball. The one that adds the most size for me is a gel that actually moves when I walk. It took some getting used to but is very comfortable, especially if on your feet on hard floors all day. I don't like the heel inserts either. The full length ones make your feet a bit higher in the shoe so that the heel comes up higher and seems to fit better. It's going to still be nicely dressy even sleeveless without the cardigan, which I like. I am the queen of exclamation points, so I am happy to see others using them! I was getting a little worried about over-wearing the cardigan over dress look, but as long as you think it works for me, it's really a perfect look. Keeps my arms warm in the office, and dresses down the dress enough that my coworkers aren't all intimidated by me being too over-dressed compared to them.</p> <p>Violet: Friday was a big hit everywhere, so thank you! I adore colors, and wear them everyday. It doesn't feel like I'm properly dressed if I don't have a punch of something on!</p> <p>Angie: Thanks so much! I am almost done disappearing, and so now I'm trying to get used to this new build I've acquired and learning what cuts and styles I can wear now that I couldn't six months ago. After a couple of months of wearing my friend's loaner pastels and blacks through the middle part of my weight loss, I am feeling liberated again in all my beloved colors! I'm having a blast finding new ones in my new size, and even more so because I'm not tied to a small selection of stores anymore so I don't have to stick to their color palettes of the season. Yay!</p> <p>Joy, I did put a heel insert in, and it saved the shoes for another wearing, but now the fit is off and they're not the all-day shoe they used to be. Same with my favorite grey-plaid peeptoe heels; first I tried an insert at the ball of my foot, but that made it horrifically painful by the end of the day. The heel is more comfortable, but it tears up my hose because there still is some chafing. </p> <p>Luckily the shrinking only happened with the two heels, which leads me to think they've just stretched out too much from overuse. Tara, I am hoping this is just a fluke; if my foot had actually gotten smaller and I was now an 8 1/2, you would have heard my scream of agony from space! *g* I love my shoes and have a huge collection. No way will I be replacing them. It would break me financially. LOL!</p> <p>Lwc, that's the brand-new cream purse I found at the consignment store for $16. It's Tignanello, which is a brand I find I am very drawn to; the leather always feels very nice and not cheap, and the shapes are classic and full of clever details for pockets and hardware. I have a yellow crossbody from them too that I picked up at DSW. They're also big at Macys.</p> <p>Thanks all!
