I think you'll find lots of ways to play around with it. Another idea might be to play around with the "Mod" 60s look. I remember wearing similar dresses with tights and calf-high boots, oxford-style shoes with chunky heels, and kitten heels. We also layered this style of dress over turtlenecks with the dress' sleeves rolled up to mid-arm.
