Thanks ladies! I am going to see if I can snag a few minutes later to try it with some skirts... I am wondering if it is too much to ask for a top to be versitile with both skirts and pants.

I have a top in that same material and my concern is that it feels a bit too stiff and warm for our super hot summers.

What Kelly said. I love the stripe on you, and love the fabric...but it looks too stiff from the side view. It would look fab with a skirt or with high waisted pants.

I like this way better on you than in the Zara site pic. I don't love the way it trapezes out so stiffly in front, tho.

But I'm with you all the way on a bold stripe. I say hold out.

I like the front view--the boxy top works well with the pants. You can see the belt without having to do a semi-tuck :) The side view however, gives me pause. I think the piecing and the length make it stand away from your body too much.

Sorry, but I am not really sold on it. I would want the front to be a touch longer. Could just be me being picky though

I really like it! But I think it may be a touch short with regular jeans... I think it is meant to be worn with either skirts or high waisted pants. But! That is an easy fix since you plan to wear a cami anyway... just don't tuck the cam in. I think that will make it more versatile.

I have tried about 30 bold striped tops in the last two weeks or so since Lantana help me to realize from my pinboard I might like to add a bold stripe, not necessarily only breton stripes (although I like those too, I already have three breton striped tops).

I struggle with stripes that dont match at the shoulder or neckline so and this Zara top has an interesting pieced front as opposed to printed.
http://www.zara.com/us/en/woma.....49059.html

The weight is that of a light sweater... So onto the reason for the K/R... length. Also does the shoulder looks to narrow? The seams sit exactly on the boney part of my shoulder but my upper arms are rather muscular so the upper sleeve hugs whereas the lower sleeve hangs.

I would wear a black cami tucked in under it to avoid the belly peek in #5. But otherwise does the fact that it is short and intentionally boxy work with jeans? And... just when I have almost gotten rid of my thrifted "too short with pants tops" here I am buying new short tops.... (Maybe i just like them?)

I am wearing the largest size so no option for sizing up for more length. This is a K/R so give it to me straight. I am trying to be super picky in purchasing right now and only choosing things that well made, well fitting and are current. Hence this is the only contendor of the 17 from Zara and none of the 12 from TJMaxx even came home. I am considering a Vince one from NAS (twice the price though... http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/vi.....te/3496391). Thanks for your feedback :)

ETA: Not really styled here but in reality I would probably wear pretty similar to how I have it here, but with the cami under. I will brush my hair and add shoes (and even get my jeans hemmed up properly!)
