Thank you so much, ladies!

With perspective, I'm thinking the jeans are a pass. I don't know if they're really me anyways. I think I just loved how comfy they are. I will have to take them back to the store, so ill try the next size but I predict they don't make the cut. I have my eye on those Levi's that ingunn has.

The shoes I'm still undecided on. I've put an insole in and I'll have give them a few tries to see, but it just might work. I am in love with their flat rubber sole on a fun green lowish vamp.

Think ill go ahead and keep my camouflage cat in the background.

I am going to reply before reading the others to try not to be swayed :)

I really think you need different jeans. White jeans need to be a ticker material, and if these are thin, they aren't good enough for you. See through jeans, in any color, is unfashionable to my eye.

I would pass on the shoes. Shoes should fit properly, and if they don't, you can do better.

I agree with Eliza that a front shot of the jeans would help to evaluate fit, but I also agree that fabrication makes a big difference in white jeans. I have a white pair of Paige's that are wonderfully opaque, but like Suz says about the Kuts, the denim is a little thicker. Sizing up can help.

As for the shoes, I think the key is how do they feel? If the 40s are too big even with an insole, and the 39s are just too snug, I say pass and keep looking. I fell in love with a pair of boots recently but was right smack dab in between the two sizes available. I passed on them rather than risk an expensive closet orphan mistake.

I think the shoes look fine. A lot of my shoes fit like that also. You can always put a little cushion in the fore-foot and it might nudge your foot back a bit if the gap really bothers you.

I'd try sizing up on the white jeans too.

Hmm. I always have that gap at the back of my shoes; it's just the nature of my foot. I can't stand for my toes to touch the front and opt for at least a finger's width of space in the front. Or maybe I just settle for a less-optimal fit? I LOVE those on you, and if I loved them for myself, I'd accept the gap. Does it bother you less if you tighten the straps? I haven't found that insoles help very much. They just tighten the fit everywhere, and it usually bugs me at the front of my foot.

Liz, I have white jeans that you can't see through (well I don't wear neon undies with them to test but..) I think it, as Suz says it's about the fabric. I have three pairs
Levi white straight legs in a boyfriend fit,
James Jeans in straight legs - these are fabulous construction. I do have solid thighs but a small waist and these are perfect on all counts and I also have a pair of J Brand skinnies in a thick denim.

You never have to buy shoes a half size too big!!! Me thinks you want them for a particular event that is happening shortly? (I could be wrong!)

Sizing up might help on the jeans, but it could also be a question of fabrication. There really is a difference between one and the next and some brands are a lot less transparent than others. My Kut from the Kloth Dianas don't show through at all. (From last year). But the denim is quite heavy.

So sorry about the oxfords -- the fit is just not right for you! I would keep searching. Shoes that don't fit just aren't worth it, at any price. You pay in pain later on, or huge annoyance!!

A front facing pic would make it easier to know if sizing up would help you decide about the jeans. Can't tell if the wrinkles on the side view are loose or tight, if you know what I mean. I do find I can go up a size, especially in white jeans, and not make them boyfriends if they are a slim cut to begin with.

As to the oxfords, i feel your pain. If they don't fit though, keep searching. I have not seen green ones, but they must be out there. Since you have the 40s, you could see if a comfort insole would take up slack (can't see the photo on my small screens well enough to tell if that would address your issues. Just don't settle.

Good luck. Makes you appreciate clothing that is just right to start with.

The jeans look like they fit you nicely. I would go to the store and try the next size up, though, just to see if it helps with the see-through you're seeing. (Can't see it in the photo, btw.) I ended up buying a size larger in my white jeans, as Angie and others here suggested, just because they seem more revealing than blue jeans. I'm happy I did, and there wasn't really that much difference from one size to the next--not enough to make the larger size fall down or feel sloppy.

I will add that fabric makes a huge difference in white jeans, though. So you may just have to shop some more to find the level of opacity that you want.

I agree about not compromising on footwear sizing, but try the insole or toe insert and see if that helps. They are cute shoes and fun color!

I agree with Parsley on both accounts.
If you could try a bigger size in the jeans and don't compromise on the shoes if they don't feel right.

One of the answers with white jeans may be to go up a size, but I do think some are more opaque than others. Could you try a bigger size in these and see if it makes a difference?

The oxfords are cute, but if they don't fit you well, then I'd keep looking. You could try an insole and see if it helps, though.

These white jeans are from The Limited. I have been coveting them for a while and I found them for a really good price. I'm not 100% sure though. They are kinda see through. Is this normal for white jeans? Every pair of white pants I've ever had has been see through even with lining, but I see people discussing it on here as though it's possible for them to not be. Not sure if you can tell from the pictures.

These green oxfords!!! I love them so much. I've been stalking them online and finally bought them, but the sizing leaves something to be desired. My toes touched the front in a 39, but you can see here how the 40 fits. They don't have half sizes argh! I don't know if I can put up with that gap. What do you think?

ETA: Has anyone seen anything like these oxfords hopefully that come in half sizes? I'm obsessed.
