Great! Thanks everyone, I'm glad there's consensus. I'll keep the small. I guess I've been sensitive to not buying coats too big, because I realized that all my pre-YLF coats were too big on me (size 6-8 or M instead of size 4 or S) so I don't want to make the same mistake with my new coats. But if the small doesn't look too big, it'll be more comfortable for me to move around in.

Does anyone want the XS before I return it?

Small! It'll be more comfy with layers and looks great IMO.

Also, those SHOES!

I just had to make the same decision with my jacket, Natalie. It's hard I know, but the difference in looks is negligible. I would go for the small. You will wear it more if you are comfortable. It's no fun driving with tight sleeves!

I vote the S. It looked great in the last set of photos. It's more retro looking in that size.

I can't really tell a big difference in fit between the XS and the S. The small doesn't look boxy in comparison or anything like that. Also, if the sleeves/shoulders are tight in the XS, you run the risk of tearing the lining at the sleeves (I have done this). Plus, if you want to wear even a mid-weight sweater underneath, it might not work with the XS. I'd go with the size S.

I think the cropped sleeves look more intentional in the XS. How often do you need to raise your arms when you would be in a coat?

Are you planning on wearing layers? That will make the difference. I think I would go for the S which does not look too big. There is not much difference in how it looks and the Xsmall seems uncomfortable. Great coat!!!

Here is the purple tweed Anthro coat I just bought. Which size should I keep? Small fits fine, but is a little roomy. The XS is more fitted which looks nicer, but it's a little tight around the shoulders if I lift my arms.
1-2. Size S
3-4. Size XS.
