I like the first pair best also. And I would have said that the last pair were second best, except I hear from your report that this might be illusory. I wish it were easier to see with black. I think these are going to be a good purchase, anyway. The high waist will make them wearable with tops covering.

Wow! The consistent answers for #1 are VERY helpful, everyone. I guess I need to find someone to take in the waist, because I loathe doing that type of alteration myself. I do want it done. The pants sure aren't going to fall down, but the excess material in the back juts out and tops can get hung up on it.

Thank you all especially for being patient with the black pictures. I adjusted these a lot and they still aren't very good for showing detail. The scuba pants were definitely the worst.

I'm also surprised but fascinated by the "minority report" for #4. They are definitely the most like pants, but also had the poorest fit. The rise is the lowest, which is a consideration because the lower the rise = the least comfortable for me. CocoLion noticed the crotch bunching, which is a very typical problem for me. It's really only solved with bespoke pants, because I need extra depth in the back crotch. So while I like this direction, it would take a lot of work and expense and time; I'm not sure the cost/benefit is positive yet.

kkards, these are indeed all the same line. I did that on purpose for several reasons: (1) Plain leggings from this line fit me very well, and consistently and are quite good quality. (2) They have a wide assortment of sizes, including talls, which are very difficult to find consistently. (3) The price is very reasonable, and my budget is quite limited even for this hole. (4) I have reasonably high confidence of being able to replace any of these when they wear out, or when my weight falls and I need to size back down.

And thank you all very, very much for the kind words about my extra curves. In happy news, it is finally a chilly morning here, and I will be wearing this awesome cozy item around the house.

# 1 also.
You look great, BTW!

I need more hip camouflage so I have to wear with tush- cover and usually crotch coverage. I say that because then I look at the final effect with target linv too and the big features ard havin flattest front and a good " line" under and past the tunic or top. So my choices end up being very final- outfit specific, and I could see different choices if someone is wearing shorter or longer tops.

as other's have said, its hard with black to be 100% sure from pictures, but that being said, of those i think the second pair (#6-10) is the best fit. but honestly, if you can, i'd try other brands. (looks to me like all of these are the same brand, just different cuts, maybe i'm wrong)

I think the ponte shaping leggings fit the BEST. The don't look like leggings at all! You can actually wear them as pants - as the fit around the crotch and hips is brilliant! I won't worry about the lose waistband if the pants don't move down as you move. Test them out at home; wear them with long-ish tops and see how they fare.

The next best are the scuba skinny pants. I like the fit of those too. I think they'd be perfect with long tops/short tunics.

As for your curves - be proud girl! You have a beautiful, amazingly feminine shape with a teeny tiny waist. Your curves are in all the right places

It's hard to tell in the pics but the first pair seems to be the most flattering even if they're a little big in the waist.

Skinnies are hard! I like the second pair the least. They look a little thin and too much like gear. The third pair is better but still a bit like gym gear. I like the first and the last. The first look like they fit you the best but I think the last look the most like pants, rather than leggings, if that's a priority.

The first pair look like they fit you very well, save for the loose waistband. Sometimes a loose waistband doesn't hurt, if the pants don't fall down. Can you test them out? If they fall down, it seems like a simple alteration to take in the waist. Without making it difficult to take the pants off, that is.

My second favorite -- the last ones with the pockets. I don't know what to do about the bunching at the crotch though. Probably means these should go back. But I wanted to note these as I think this style is moving in a good direction for you.

It's always so hard to see (in pics) details of an item when it is in black - but, from what I can tell, I'd say the 1st pair - the ponte shaping legging looks the best to me. The scuba skinny pant and the textured skinny pant look too much like leggings or gear to me. And, the skinny ponte pants look as though the rise is too long for you!

Several weeks ago I asked for help with styling a long shirt/short tunic. I was uncertain about wearing it with just regular heavy leggings. Since then I've tried some things, and especially ordered a number of ponte leggings and/or skinny pants in Tall sizes. I've tried them on and taken pictures. Acceptable under short tunics or not? (Note: I am NOT interested in showing my back, so it's more what these look like from the front.) What's the best fit?

This is complicated by my, um, lush curves. This was actually pretty humbling; I'm at my highest weight point right now, and I'm fully confronting it (and working on it). But even when I shed the excess, I will always be quite curvy. I think Suz said once, "Every pant on me is a skinny." On me, it's starting to look like every skinny is a legging!

#1-5: ponte shaping legging. Nice high waist that is actually too big.
#6-10: scuba skinny pant. Hard to tell, but there are curving seamlines.
#11-15: textured skinny pant in a heavy knit with flat overlocked seams down center and back of each leg.
#16-20: skinny ponte pants. Has a real fly and back pockets.
