Love the jacket - I'm a sucker for that type of cut away opening. Not crazy about the striped dress though. Gosh, I love you in that Michael Kors dress.

Try the jacket with a few other things in your wardrobe before making your final decision and post pics - Angie will sort you out!

another vote for the jacket. I like the stripes of the fabric but I think the wraps are more sophisticated and a better look. I think you had a black and white wrap dress as well?

i much prefer the wrap dress and like you I want to like the striped dress. I don't mind where the waist sits but I would like to seethe skirt a tiny bit longer.

Here's what I notice about the jacket: this more feminine and streamlined style looks really good- better than some of the standard blazers you showed.

I am with the bunch. I like your striped shopping outfit from the other week much more than this striped dress. The Micheal Kors wrap I think is lovely and flattering. I have a hard time seeming the details of the jacket and it's closure over the dark dresses so like Suz I'd say try it with some other things. Perhaps contrary to DH, I like how it defines the waist. But if he still doesnt like it.... hmmmm.

Did i mention you see me in BF jeans, and flares and wide legs a lot and barely ever skinny's? Guess who doesnt like skinny's at my house? I try some on every once in a while... but when it comes down to it I want DH to like what I wear for the most part. And thats ok too.

Forget the dress. It does not match your sophistication.

The jacket, however, has a ton of possibility. It may or may not be the shorter jacket you want with dresses. But jackets with those front points like that can also look really super with pants. Try it with a few items and see. I really like it, myself.

Thought I was going to be the only one who liked the jacket. I like the cutaway (?) of the front hem of the jacket, but are the sleeves a bit short?
The stripe dress is a little too "cute" or something, I am not seeing it for an accountant.

Agree with Angie and the others. Dress in 1/2 - you can do better, probably a factor of cut and fabric. Dress in pic 3 on its own - fab! Blazer in 2/3 is great, as Angie mentioned! I think if it is styled over the top of something else it will get rave reviews from fellow YLFers. I just don't think the jacket looks right on top of either of the dresses shown here, unfortunately.

Well if the dress falls flat you have to return it. It's frustrating when you want to love it, but it isn't giving you the reason. I love the shape of #1 on you but the buttons are throwing me off. I agree with Lyn that the waist band is too high because you weren't given enough boob room. I think I would like this dress more if the material had more structure to it. I like #3 the best but I wish there was a pic with out the jacket.

I suggest if you can't find the perfect twirly dress focus on finding a twirly skirt. That's what I do when I love a silhouette -- I focus on the part I love. for example I love the peplum trend but I can't do a skirt because it would force me to tuck (completely unflattering) so I have ordered peplum tops instead -- no need to tuck them ever.

I returned all of the jackets I was trying before except the black tuxedo jacket. That and the grey sweater jacket I wore teh other day are some of the only jackets that have made the YLF cut. Several others are in the charity pile

Yeah; I'd leave the dress - you can do way better than that! I agree with you, it looks almost empire waist - I hate it when this happens; I find it happens to me sometimes too when they don't leave enough "boob room" :p

I also don't like the jacket - I think it's accenting the wrong part of your body; if that makes sense? It sort of draws attention towards your middle.

My order from White House Black Market arrived today, and I just had to try on the dress!

Pic#1 - Twirly dress! I really want to love it, and I thought I was going to, but . . . Well, the black band sits several inches above my natural waist. Empire Waist, I think? I am not srue it is a fab look on me. DH did NOT like it.

Pic#2 - Twirly dress with a shorter jacket intended for dresses and skirts. I tried it with the questionable dress and the Michael Kors dress that got great reviews just to make sure it wasn't the dress throwing it off. DH doesn't like it either, and I am wondering if maybe it is too big through the waist for me. It is a stretchy material, but it just sort of hangs at the waist. Going through Angie's checklist, it just doesn't seem to skim, but not sure.

Looking for honest feedback. If the clothes don't flatter my body, back they go! I have a list of others to take their place, so no hurt feelings if they should back!
