And if you wanted to wear alone but not as a dress, you could wear some cool bike shorts underneath that mostly wouldn’t show. I share your sugar eye for shirts!

@shevia: You noticed the zebra shoe! Actually, it's on probation. I'm not big on them with gray, so I need to wear a pants/jeans outfit where they look good, and that hasn't come up IRL. They are a bit pricey for me and 8 or 9 on the comfort scale so I need to be SURE.

@RobinF: I was worried about the sleeves and was even prepared to pay to have them altered (well, actually via a Nordstrom Note) but the stock photo made the sleeves look on the short side. When I do the driving stretch, the sleeves are tight at the cuff button, so I will live with 1/2" too long.

@catherine: You are the long shirt queen, so I was worried since we have different body types.

@Sally: You never know if something won't work on you unless you try -- but I would be inclined to say that the style doesn't seem quite right for you. (See the Yin/Yang discussion thread.)

And thanks for weighing in and for your support Jonesy, rachylou, and Kathie.

Now it just needs to get warm enough to wear it! Even with Heattech I get cold. Maybe this Sunday when it's supposed to get in the high 70s?

As a fellow short person (5'2" here) I know what you mean about proportion but this does seem to fit you almost the same as on the model and the sleeves aren't too long. I also prefer the lower contrast versions but this could be a fun and versatile piece. OH and I want those silver clogs!

@Fashintern, unfrumped, and Jenni NZ: Yes, I was concerned about the white medical coat association. But wrinkles due to the linen content may avoid that association since medical coats never wrinkle. I should wear it as DH takes his blood pressure and see if it goes up. And unfrumped, I will try wearing it with tags on to see how I feel about the wrinkles, although I am a RATE kinda linen gal.

Those Hide Photo label that the poster sees meant that I had to go back to check on what everyone meant by #1, 3, and 5! They all looked like white shirts to me! The consensus seems to agree with my inclination to wear the shirt with low contrast cropped pants. I threw the other choices in there just to see. . .and didn't include the iterations with white and cream crops which looked very, very flat and more lab coat or the tries with my white platform Crocs. But if I make a name label, I know what I can wear as a Halloween costume!

Those silver clogs folks seem to like were ordered off the internet or maybe Amazon from Sweden a long time ago. They were loose and I used to kick them off until I stuck a tongue pad in. I use tongue pads a lot, but mostly for my oxfords.

Again, thank you Fashintern, unfrumped, chewy spaghetti (good to see you again!), slim cat, notsaf, Angie, Janet, Nikki, Phoebe, Runcarla, Irina, Glory, Jenni NZ, lisa p, donnat to take the time to read and respond. I really appreciate it.

One of my concern is that the appeal is may be in the crisp architectural look. My experience with similar fabric blends is that it will be a mass of wrinkles during actual wear, meaning, even if ironed to start off with. I’m not opposed to wrinkles— I live in them- but I’m wondering what will happen to the “ view” - like the back view after sitting, sleeved if you need to roll them- and the appeal of the item then, or if a more casual lived- in look up close is ok.
You could put it through some sitting, driving, bending and see.

I had thought before I read FashIntern’s comment that it looked like a lab coat in some of the pics. Especially in pic 4. Overall I think it may be too much shirt, yes. If you keep it, I think it’s better with the cropped pants and slightly higher heeled sandals or your clogs.

Wel, I think you could make a paper sack look fun and edgy. And I love button- front shirts worn untucked.
I’m not wowed by this piece styled as a major player because of the “ lotta white” while still thin material- though crisp to start with but may not maintain an architectural presence. For some reason my eye wants to see a short dress/tunic- length item in darker color with more heft. Or just wear more of a petite- sized BF white shirt over pants. Unless you would use this shirt as a swim coverup.

I like the bottoms you’ve paired it with in 2 & 5. Dark bottoms give it a lab coat vibe. Also think it’s long enough to give you a leggy model look with those silver clogs or with white sandals. Even if that look is too much for your everyday life, you could wear it to sail through hotel lobby en route to pool/beach.

I confess to having a major sugar eye for shirts, especially white ones. This is a regular size so not really proportioned to 5’ 1” me. Still, I don’t think I would feel comfortable wearing it as a dress with bare legs. The fabric is textured with 15% linen, hence the wrinkles.

What do you think? Too much shirt?
