I think you look beautiful in the dress, it fits well, the pattern is not overwhelming. I do understand feeling self conscious in something new. I was trying on a wrap dress I don't wear much just this morning. I decided it fits well and I look fine, but shows off curves more than I'm used to. I feel too self conscious unless I figure out another way to wear it, so I'm experimenting with cropped cardis. Maybe try a cami, or a scarf, or a cardi, as well, and see if you like it then.

I think this dress looks great on you. I like the pattern too. If you feel uncomfortable with the neckline, try a camisole. But really, looks like it fits you like a glove.

The pattern looks perfectly proportioned for you, to my eye, and this is a super look on you! If you're feeling self conscious, do try it with a cami and post again.

Thank you again everyone for all the feedback. I'm a little shocked.
Even a thumbs up from Angie!
All of you have made my day, week, etc :-)
It would be outside my comfort zone to wear this dress to work. The encouragement helps.
I'll get the camisole, then see if I can upload a better picture.

It's hard to tell color from your photo, but in my experience big patterns help to hide uneven surfaces better than small prints or solid colors in body-con styles around the waist and hips-- so unless I want to wear something like spanx so there are no underwear lines they work better for me.

But you might need to try on a couple of different size patterns or plain fabrics to see what works best to your eye. The right kinds of draping and skimming in a plain darker fabric can give me the best of all worlds I've found.

You are at an angle in the pic, it could help to see face on from the front but I don't see any issues here. It's all about what you are comfortable wearing, though.

Hmm, thanks, surprised to hear this!
I am confused about whether this dress is flattering or not. It shows off my curves more than what I usually wear.
Other opinions?
Maybe I will order a camisole and look at the whole thing together.

pattern seems in scale with your stature to me. I have one with a larger pattern than that, actually, and it got rave reviews here.

Would love to get some feedback here.
I'm working on finding a wrap dress as per Angie's hourglass body type guidelines.
I think the fit of this dress is ok although I would need a camisole or tape in some fabric in order to prevent my bra from showing.
FYI, it's Maggy London dress from Nordstrom.
The problem is the pattern which seems to be too big and (as far as I can see) makes me look bustier and rounder rather than being slimming.
Thoughts on this dress and on large or small patterns?
Thanks!
