Suz Thanks! I reviewed the types when I first joined and quickly reverted to old habits I think. I am mostly Apple but used to be rectangle if that makes sense. The Apple is mid section weight. I just reviewed Angie's notes again and see that waist surrender is ok but perhaps not with the snugged in style. Sigh - I bought two shirts like this. And my daughters support it LOL. I think I like them because they are easy and no lumps show. I guess it is back to the drawing board and now with an additional return to Reitmans for this blouse which I bought in cream.

Glory - did you read Angie's body type recommendations yet? If not, that might be a good place to start. It's tough to tell absolutely from these photos, but it looks as if you might be a rectangle or an apple? I might be completely wrong because the shirt could be making you look that way when you are not. What the shirt definitely does is make you look as if you do not have a strong shoulder line (whether you do or not). If your shoulders are a bit sloping, you might want to pick something that has a bit more structure in that area. Also, if you ARE an apple or rectangle, a top with extra material around the middle won't be your most flattering look, esp. if it is bloused like that - (it could work really well if it were loose all the way down and then nipped in with a jacket to show your waist or create a waist).

Hi Suz - thanks for your supportive words. The fabric is very soft and washable in the machine. It is a bit stretchy and is 100% nylon - not very organic :). I do think it could fit well into my wardrobe which needs some spiffing up but am unsure on whether it is flattering.

Don't be discouraged. You are doing really well. Buying from the Bay (where you can return if necessary) is an excellent strategy when you are concerned about whether or not something's going to work.

If the fabric is great, this top might be well worth keeping. It's not easy to find blouses in fabrics that feel good.

Is it washable? That's another consideration.

thanks for the feedback. It was very hard to post a photo. I will try and get a better one. I do see what you mean about the style of shirt. The fabric is lovely and it is lined so layering would not be needed. I will have to think about where something more structured would be better. I am really trying to improve my buying habits.

Glory, good for you for posting a photo! I know it can be tough to do. But it is SOOOOO helpful to us!

How does the top feel? As others have said, I personally find that style of top hard to wear. But it's not me who is wearing it!

I like the pattern and colours and I actually like the neckline for you, too. But I do agree with Astrid that a slightly more defined shoulder might be nice in terms of ultimate figure flattery. However, it's possible that it would look a little different if you weren't having to hold the camera and if it looks good to you straight on, and fills a need, then go for it.

Thanks for posting the pic. It seems to fit you quite well and the proportion looks good with your trousers. How does the fabric feel? Does the hemline stay in place when you sit or stand? If the colours are versatile for you, then I'd say keep.

I'm not sure. It is the neckline that looks off to me, and I think I would like it better if it would have defined shoulders.

Like CF and Dianthus said, I'd like to see how you'll wear it before I give an opinion. I think the pattern and style are cute and it would look good with jeans.

Hello all. During lunch today I returned a pile of items, before the exp date. I ended up bringing this home. It is from The Bay so no trouble returning. It is Style and Co. I was thinking it could work with jeans and trousers. What do u think? I have included myfirst self photo.
