I'm glad you're letting this one go. I recognized a problem with it that I have with blazers all the time: the bustline on this jacket seems to be a couple of inches below your own. No matter how cleverly you style it (and you always do style things cleverly) it won't feel right.

Oh - I see you've made a decision. I agree. I want to love this as well - I do love the fabric - but it seems too wide around the bottom or something. You will find a perfect long blazer - it will fit so well into your wardrobe.

You already got help and made a decision so I just wanted to comissarate on the blazer hunting woes. I just been through this myself returning 5 (!) blazers to JCrew (to a staggering shipping cost!) and 2 to Banana Republic so I can feel your pain! Why it has to be so darn hard to find a pefect blazer?!

OK, sounds like this is going back. The fabric is actually what appealed - it's like a men's tie and feels androgynous, and it's not black. Because I have so many black blazers.

I would really like a longer length blazer that works with skinnies and boots, and if anyone sees such a creature, or has tips on what to look for that would better suit me, please let me know.

I vote return. The patch pockets look a little odd. They lengthen the length of the jacket. Not great for your very petite height.

I love the length (love), style, height of stance on you. I like the jacket alot, a two button is a HEWI, but I'm just not 100%sure of the fit - when buttoned it seems to pull across the front. If it just needs a press or it's postural that's great but the jacket should sit pretty perfectly without the vent being open, otherwise the vent will splay when you button it IRL. Also, being the long blazer kook that I am, you want the option to button. Nothing more elegant for work/business conference that worn closed like a coat dress/tunic with a short skirt or mini, cigarette pants, or with black leather leggings and boots. Very equestrian vibe but you should really be able to get a ton of styling milage out of it. But, no surprise, I adore this look on you!! Elegant, edgy, flattering, tall, and modelesque, sorry but just so uber chic! - you rock this look!! PS I like the fabric. Although it's great to have a solid, sometimes my subtly patterned jackets get the most work!!

I like this jacket, the fabric is beautiful and the small print works well, but the fit seems a little big and shapeless through your torso and too long for your petite frame which does give a leg shortening effect. Nothing a good tailor couldn't help you with or would it be worth sizing down? This looks like a high quality jacket and may be worth tailoring to shape the torso and create a more flattering length for you if you really love it. If you compare the length of your black jacket in your previous post, you can see how much nicer that looks on you. I wouldn't keep it without reviewing the fit.

I WANT to love this. I love the idea of this. But it looks too big. I think that if it were just slightly more fitted through the waist that it would look better both open and closed, but the straight cut is instead giving it a lack of structure through the middle. Because it is a long jacket, I feel like it needs to have a little more structure through the middle, otherwise it is just too oversized throughout the entire length of it from the shoulders down.

I have to agree with the rest ... Sorry. I like how it fits your shoulders, but the part from waist down looks too big and/or weirdly cut. Open is much better than closed surely, but still not good enough for you IMO.

Also, I agree that long blazers do suit your style ... May be just not this one.

I like it but I don't love it. I agree with Suz -- there is something about the bottom part of it that is giving me pause. I feel like this length would be more successful with a more cutaway style, perhaps. Or maybe the big patch pockets are throwing me off. The fit seems neither here nor there -- not truly fitted, and not truly boyfriendy/oversized.

I think there is a better long blazer out there for you.

Hmmmm. I am divided. My gut says that the fit is not right. The shoulder's great, but something is off with the stance or maybe it is the scale of the pockets....much more noticeable closed than open, of course. I do think it would be great to see you style this; it's a bit tough to judge unstyled. If this were a $6.99 thrift store find I would say: Wow, fab, have fun with it! But if it is a pricey, needs to be perfect item, I don't feel as confident.

I'm just not getting that WoW factor. I think it looks too big. A jacket like that should add structure and this just seems to add bulk. Maybe it could be nipped in at the waist or more fitted? I think even an oversized style structured jacket should look fitted. OK - I'm laughing at myself because I'm acting like I know what I'm talking about - as if! Just my "gut" feeling - need more Veterans to pipe in.

This arrived! Shoulders are a great fit. Material is a substantial silk, like a men's tie. There are two vents in back that I haven't opened, making the front not quite hang properly ((didn't want to cut in case of return). It is cut completely straight up and down. I'd mostly wear it open, but it does close comfortably. It needs a good steam. Sleeves are too long, of course.

But otherwise, it is just what I needed or all wrong? Keeping my own thoughts to myself for now.

Please be honest! It was expensive and needs to be a perfect statement item that will not be out of date in a hot minute.
