But as Una pointed out, it means you're not settling for "just about" and in the end, that's a good thing. This way you only have items in your closet you love and that make you feel good. My recommendation would be to take a break from shopping for a bit. Sometimes I need to "rest my ego", you know? I don't know your size, but I did do a quick run on ebay and saw some Eileen Fisher dresses in shapes that might flatter.  (I searched for larger sizes, just to see what was there really and not because I think this IS your size.) If it is any consolation I have returned way more than I kept in the last 3 months and have so many fails that I kept which is money just tossed away. The pink dress is an almost.  The armholes look too big as someone else said while the bust looks a bit tight.  Those are really tough to alter, so I would pass. Don't let it get to you. I do most of my shopping online and probably return 80-90% of what I order, no matter what the size of my belly/body. Instead of thinking you struck out or blaming your body, think of it as having high standards. Which is a good thing for your closet! Of the dresses, I think the wrap style flatters you more but I love the pink color on you! Though there is some puckering at the armholes so that either should be tailored or maybe keep looking. Do you have any pumps or sandals you can wear? I feel like the boots and tights are a bit heavy for the dresses, esp. with spring approaching. I have been on a few sides of fitting dilemmas and it can be challenging for every woman to find a proper fit in a mass manufactured garment. I have also noticed that when I am in a major shopping groove, I can fail to optimize what I already own, which undermines the effort in another way. I cannot size up.  I bought 2 sizes of JAG jeans in three washes, none of them fit. I ordered the next size up, but I am rapidly hating bad size charts. Especially when they make me size up. Irrational, yes, but still hurts the ego. I bought a workout outfit that was too small, can't size up. I bought two swim suits, both fit but neither had anywhere near enough support for a post-nursing momma. Feeling a bit blue at the moment, tired and frustrated at living in a world designed for women half my size. So, yes, I said no dresses for a bit, but I bought two anyway. Pic#1 - Yes, it is a wrap, but I feel like it might look like pajamas. Pic#2 - the Violet dress I tried before but was too big came back in stock one size down. I am looking for honesty. No point keeping either if they aren't fab. I will just regret it later.
