After doing hand wash, chopping food, trying it under the puffer and lots of bending and reaching, the sleeves were just short enough to stay out of the way. They also helped keep me from getting overheated while working yet I stayed cozy just sitting on a cold day. I love the pocket feature. I also found that I have a waffle knit long sleeved tee in a pink close enough to blend that could be layered underneath this sweater. I think that it will be a good addition to my cold weather capsule that can take me into late winter/early spring, which is something I needed.<br /> Thank you each for your comments and ideas and questions to consider. All have been so helpful.<br /> For those that may be interested, the sweater is from SteinMart and comes in other colors too. Loving the sound of the non-itchy, cosy material. I also adore the big collar and the fact that is has pockets. The wide sleeves are a little kimono-esque (which I like too), not frumpy in my book, and not overwhelmingly wide. </p>
