Karie, I never thought of a black cami, good idea. I think I have one in my giveaway pile! It's a good thing it hasn't left the house yet!

I like #5 but the transparency would be a deal breaker for me. To get around that issue with black jeans, I would wear it with a black cami underneath - I know you'll be able to see the black cami but I'm fine with that. It looks intentional instead of just being able to see through your clothing at the waistline. When you put the top on with white jeans, can you see through it to the white jeans?
#6 and #1 - I'm not crazy about either of these, I'd like #6 to be longer and #1 to be less boxy.
#7 - love it! Keep!
#8 - #10 - more love for these! The color and style of these look great on you.

No to one... looks too big.

Love 6 and 10- would like 6 better if it were in a different color - like the green in 10 or a cornflower blue or something.

The drapey shirt is fine and I like # 8.

I think you have a great figure and it looks great when you where your clothes close to it and show it off ! Length is good- # 1 cuts you off.

I love your outfits and I think your gray looks great.

Love the gray shoes- fantastic bookend...I always get ideas from you !

I think 5, 6, 8 and 10 suit you best. I agree with MsMaven's assessment of the Carven shirt. I understand the attraction to the fab print, but the cut is not worthy of you.

Wow, thanks Vix! Yes, contrast and value are important to me and I continue to consider them. Now that my hair is grey, I remain low to medium contrast, and you're right, I need to mix in some shades to make things work. My hair is multi-tonal now. The green shirt in number 10 is an exact match to my color swatches as is the cornflower shirt in number 5. I think the lighting, my green walls, and the cell phone distort the colors. The coral/pink shirt is not a match, it is warmer than my swatches. It looks almost orangey next to the coral pinks in my palette. You have a good eye. I held up a few of the pinks in my closet yesterday and that shirt makes me look a bit sallow compared to one that is an exact match.

I like 6 7 8 10. The color in #6 looks gorgeous on you. I like the asymmetrical blouse too and the other two are polished and chic.
# 9 looks somewhat off to me, can't pinpoint why - maybe the length,as Angie says.
As for #1, I don't know if an alteration is easy with thay fabric. More expert sewers will be of more help...

Hi Stayfit --

I'm actually voting primarily on color/contrast level since I know that's important to you, though my "yeses" all have shapes that flatter you IMO.

So for me the picks are #5 (cornflower, transparency seems fine)and #7 (dark taupey). I wasn't sure if #10 was a little too bright, but you say you're keeping it -- so there's 3. [#6 is too bright/wearing you IMO.]

I get that you're trying to add texture, but to wear the light shades successfully I think you have to add more contrast. Maybe this is why you aren't wearing the several white jacket/sweaters you have -- on some level, you're drawn to more grounding?

I remember you were worried about a print sheath dress having medium value shades that were too dark for you, but it got lots of thumbs up. I'd continue to look for prints and patterns that mix medium and light shades if you want to wear something standalone that reads "lighter."

[If the blue in #1 were deeper I think it'd be perfect, but it reads very soft when taken as a whole. Perhaps better in person, though?]

In case it helps, I'm attached a few photos of a very greying Jon Stewart looking...quite washed out...in a light T and then much better in another light T under a darker jacket. Also some where he's mixing a few different values...echoing the light in his hair but not letting it predominate.

Figuring out contrast was tough enough for me the first time around -- lovely to be doing it again as I let the grey come in!

I nixed the lace top because of the sleeves, even before I read your comment that you were wondering about them. They seem too flared or something. I don't think they create a flattering overall shape. There are a lot of lace tops out there now, and I think you can find something better.

Love the new shoes!

My favorites are 5, 7, 8 and 10. I love the print of the Carven blouse -- but the shape is way too boxy and hides your lovely figure. I am not a seamstress, but I think the blouse would be difficult to tailor because of the intricacy of the print. You might lose some of the interesting pattern in the process.

I like 5-7, 9 & 10. There is something off-putting to me about the first one--I think you look great in the more intense colors. The Carven reminds me of one of my husbands shirts--the one I had to hide in the donation bag. Sorry, but I also think that if it is something you love and makes you feel great, you should keep it. I don't see why the side seams couldn't be taken in, or at least the back side.

One of my Spring/Summer shopping goals is to add some texture. It's also to add some blouses because I have very few that I love.

Pictures 1-4 are a Carven blouse that I was instantly drawn to because of the sea themed print. I love the ocean, aquariums, water, swimming, boats, etc. It has a ruffle across the front, and it has transparent/translucent areas in the print which I tried to show by putting my hand underneath. It's obviously large and boxy. I'm not sure if I can have it cut down and shaped a bit but the transparency works well and you can see my figure through it fairly well. What do you think?

Picture 5 is a Michael Kors blouse that clearly has texture. I notice it's transparent at the bottom with the dark jeans. I'm not sure I like that and need to try it with a pair of white. Is that a deal breaker? Should I return?

6. Nic and Zoe tie front top in a linen blend. I like this one for its color and sleeve length. However, it may be loose and a bit short.

7. All Saints, this is a bit of a wild card for me but I wanted something asymmetrical and grey and this fit the bill. I know that sounds like an odd combination but grey is one of my key neutrals now that I've stopped coloring my hair.

8. Halogen blouse- this is fairly basic but it looks good under two of my lightweight Blazers.

9. Hard Tail lace top- This is a casual gear like top and I really like it. I love my white tank tops and this is the perfect way for me to cover them up and head out of the house without feeling too exposed.

10. Equipment slim signature - I love these and it's my favorite color. It matches my glasses! It's staying! :-)

Bonus: The grey shoes are my new Everybody flats. Very comfortable. I purchased 1/2 size larger than my usual because I think they run a bit small or maybe it's because my arches are high. They also come in black and white.
