I'm so relieved you think that the fit is workable. I will attempt to take some pics with the jacket closed just for review. The material is quite stiff due to the polyurethane metallic coating so I don't like how the lapel bends when it is done up.

I was so captivated with the jacket when I removed it from the box. Then when I saw the pics I was worried that I wasn't doing the jacket proper justice. I definitely hesitated to post them, for fear that I would hear that it was a disaster.

I so appreciate this wonderful community. The honest and constructive feedback presented in a gentle way is invaluable. You are all honestly one of the bright spots in my day. xoxo

What a beautiful garment. You must keep this. I would like to see it buttoned to see how much pulling is really visible. I know you won't keep it buttoned (who does keep fitted jackets buttoned, after all?) -- it's a way to gauge fit.

I love the sleeve length.

This is going to look amazing with black pants, jeans, or skirts. Perfect for the B/W trend.

Lovely jacket. I would say if you can lift your arms to drive etc. You are good. I always do the driving test now after having a jacket i didnt realize was restrictive before purchase. The metallic sheen on the white is spactactular.

In the cost-benefit analysis, the difference a size up might make would not be worth the cost, IMO. While we cannot see the back, it does not look to be at all tight or pulling in the arms, and the architectural lines and shoulders lend themselves to a closer fit. It LOOKS fantastic, so it is definitely a freen light in that regard, but only you can decide if the comfort factor is worth going up.

Not Tina, but I think the shorter sleeves are intentional. I've seen that feature on a lot of white blazers, I think is to prevent dirty cuffs and to allow the bottom layer to peek thru.

It's a beautiful jacket & if it feels great then take no notice - it is so hard to tell without seeing you move.

What I see is - the arms look a little short (not sure if this is deliberate).

Because the collar is large it looks like it is standing away from your body. I think I notice this because I have a large bust & so it isn't a good look on me, what this does imo is make the jacket look a little small.

Let's say it does not feel loose (but I would say that it is still comfortable). It is tighter than the jackets I normally wear, but not by a lot. I think the sharp shape of the shoulders actually helps with my chunkier arms, lol.

I have such a tough time determining proper fit, and I'm so happy to finally have some great direction. Thank you for your insights thus far!

I like the fit, it looks really architectural. You might lose a bit of that sharpness with the size up, but without seeing the next size, is mere speculation. Does it feel tight? It does not look tight, at all.

I posted earlier this week about a Smythe jacket I had ordered. I got great feedback which confirmed the fabness of said jacket. It arrived today, I opened the box and almost gasped. It is more beautiful in person. It is white linen with a silver metallic coating. And the cut of it is just stunning. I love it and I need it.

As I mentioned before, this was the largest size available on the Canadian website. I can return it for free, and reorder a larger size from Nordstrom. However, that will add approximately $200 to the cost of the jacket. Which I'm not super keen on but willing to do for love...

I just threw it on over the casual outfit I was wearing today (added the shoes, as I fear I look weird in bare feet). Maybe I need to style it with some other pieces to get a better feel? I was surprisingly happy with the way it fit, as I anticipated it would be smaller than this. It is pretty close, ugh. I can do it up no problem, but there is a tiny bit of pulling when I do. However I would not wear it buttoned. But I need your honest opinions, on the fit. Is it too small?
