I love the dress; the color is great for you! I'm not sure about the pants.....should they be looser in the crotch? See how there are wrinkles going up in v-shape there? Would one size up be better?

I love that color of orange on you! The dress is really pretty and although I am not a big fan of slouchy trousers these look nice on you.

The soft coral of the dress is very pretty on you, not jarring the way a bright orange might be right next to your face. I think it even looks good without the alteration, but I'll trust you on that! The pants look best to me in the second photo where you have the belt in the pockets. I agree that you should not change the closure. I like them extra-slouchy! The red heels would be awesome with them!

Very nice dress and color for you - keep! Not sure on the top/pants combo. I think it has to do with the pale color of the pants (for me).

The orange is gorgeous on you, and what a beautiful dress! Looks stunning on you and the alteration will make it perfect (and boy, you can dress that number up and down...what a wonderful find!) As for the pants/top combo, I agree, black slim pants will set that top off to perfection...the gray pants just sort of wash it out, and are too slouchy to wear with it.

These are both so gorgeous on you! The orange dress really works and is extremely flattering. It's no apparent visually that it needs the alteration, FWIW. The pants are incredible on you! This gives me hope that I might some day make this trend work for me. I've been completely ignoring so far because last season I tried on several pair and they were all nightmares! Love the paper-bag waist. I think that's key for this look for women who aren't straight as an arrow.

For me the dress is an absolute yes. Really like it on you. I'm not so sure about the top and trousers. The top could work, but am not loving the trousers. I find them too bulky on top for you, too high in the waist and too short.

The pics were taken in natural light since it was afternoon so the color is true. I still can't believe that I can wear that color.

I do think the top will be better with the slim black pants. I have another top in a deep indigo blue that may work with the slouchy pants and if not, I think a simple t-shirt may be the way to go.

Suz, in the second photo, I tied the tie in a knot rather than a bow and repositioned it. I did that at the store in the fitting room too and both Shannon and I preferred it.

I think a heel may help the pants. I have a few pairs that may work and am considering buying a new pair with a 2.5" heel. That's about as high as I want to go these days. I have one pair of red heels that are higher but very comfortable so if I did the grey/white/black, I could add the red heels.

I will play with them some more. Thanks for the feedback.

Dianthus, that dress is just WOW on you. The color is very flattering and the style creates such a beautiful silhouette and I think the alteration will be perfect.

The blouse is so lovely and I can see it working more so with a slim black pant and heels

The slouchy pants look fantastic. I wouldn't alter them unless you have to. They seem to slouch in all the right places. All keepers in my book.

The orange dress looks fantastic on you. The slight alteration will make it perfect. I like the slouchy pants but something is bothering me about the length - I want them to be a bit longer or a bit shorter or maybe seen with heels. Not sure at all - I hope wiser eyes give you more helpful input.

Have you tried the pants with a heel? They might work better that way to lengthen the leg.

Ah, there she is, Lady LongLegs!

The dress is terrific on you. The colour seems fab in these photos. It's always hard to tell when it's not natural lighting, but judging from this I say yay! And I am so jealous you can wear it with flats.

The pants are fab. Fab! The top seems to work in the second photo better than in the 1st but I'm not entirely sure why. Just the way you are standing? In any case, it's lovely on you and will certainly play well with other items in your wardrobe.

I really like the orange dress on you Dianthus! I think because there's a hint of red in that orange shade, that's why it works so well on you. With the shoulder alteration, it will be perfect! And I like the flats you've paired with it - a perfect neutral.

I still love those slouchy pants - the pictures look great but they look even better IRL. I'm not sure they really need to be taken in an inch at the waist unless they really aren't staying up. If they sit too high up, they lose a bit of their slouchiness.

I think the dress will look cute with the alteration. And from what I can see in the pic, the color looks great on you. The top is cute as well, but I think it would better with slim black pants than the slouchy pants. But the pants are cute on their own.

I mentioned a dress that I kept going back to but not buying because it would need a shoulder raise. I was there to get the top and tried it on again. This time I bought it. In pic #1 I just pulled it together closer before the pic and in #2 I am holding the shoulders up an inch to mimic the alteration. What do you think? I never thought I could wear this color because orange is the death knell for me but I kind of like it. Am I seeing it wrong?

In pic #3 are the slouchy pants I bought with Shannon and the top I thought would work. I tied the belt in a bow off the the side. I'm not sure the top is fitted enough for the pants. I am pretty sure it will work with the black slim pants tucked partially though so think I will keep it unless it gets totally panned.

Pic #4 is with the belt knotted and tucked into the loops. I think the pants would be better if the closure was moved almost an inch to keep them from slipping down.

What do you think? Are the pants and top keepers?

As always, I appreciate honesty.
