Yeah... the main part of this sweatshirt is like the good quality heavy stiff cotton ones you'd get embroidered for events. It's then covered in a silk organza. I think some of the shoulder width you see is the folds in the organza, which would relax, but the stiffish underlayer would remain. A drapier one would be better, and more what I had in mind... but as many of you have said, the idea of this one is good. I do love the origami wolf.

Deborah, does Motto sell them? I hadn't noticed. really :) And no, still no leggings. Based on the first pair, I expect them this week. Fingers crossed!

Lol, more room for Motto!! Just kidding, have your Skirted Leggings arrived?

Agree with the others, it's nice but the fit doesn't seem great. Love the idea of it tho.

I saw this sweatshirt at BR and fell in love with the idea, but when I tried it on, I knew it just wouldn't work on me. I think it actually looks good on you, but I see what people mean about the sleeves, and the overall effect risks looking less fashion forward and more just large and stiff.

I'd love to have the same origami wolf head on a tee, though!

It did settled on me like "sporty de luxe" and not only the "silky" trend, and I still love and wear my daytime sparkled, lurex like grey/silver sweatshirt. But mine is a drapier and softer to my body, so think it can be worn to a one of my grey plaid pencil, even to the office.
If you don't mind me saying, yours here seems bit too stiff, and adds to much to your shoulder line, so not really flattering. Head up, think you can do much better!

Thank you so much everyone. Love the honest feedback one gets here. Sweatshirt is packed up and ready to be returned. And I'm fine with that.... no room for anything less than a 10 in my wardrobe these days!

I agree that this sweatshirt looks too large on you. It even looks too big for the model.

I see Angie just posted with what I was thinking -- the sleeves in particular look bulky. It almost looks stiff. I like it in theory, but I think there is a better one out there for you.

Sporty Luxe IS here to stay, but I vote return the sweatshirt, E. The sleeves are too overwhelming and the wrist openings too wide.

I think sporty lux is here to stay! Hard for me to weigh in on this particular sweatshirt, though. Black is so tricky to photograph!

Ever since the "silky sweatshirt" idea hit the market, I've been keeping my eyes open. But have been unable to find one that works with my colour palette, or my budget. Until now. Spied this at BR a week or so ago, and ordered it on one of their constant discount coupons.

So... questions for you...
1. What do you think? :)
2. Are these still something somewhat current/modern, or is the concept becoming dated? I was quite surprised to note when searching the blog/forum that Angie was talking about these two years ago! I'm not sure how much I truly care about this, as my part of the world is years behind any true "trends" but still.
3. Is it foolish to have a sweatshirt that needs to be drycleaned? I think I would follow the rules with this one, to keep the wolf head intact.

I can see wearing it with my VC tube skirts, red and blue pencil skirts, jeans, black or black patterned trousers... so no real issues there. Maybe even with silky track pants? Or would that be too much?

All thoughts welcome! And thanks in advance.
