I like the MK slightly darker patent pumps much better than any of the other shoes. I feel like the shoes you already have are just slightly dated. The Bianco nude pumps seem too light. I know many people wear nude shoes in this style but I find it much more flattering when the nude is just slightly darker than your natural skin tone.

Keep both patent nude shoes. (I am not certain which pair you meant was K/R). But BOTH have very distinct uses: pointy for white pants and jeans, and some pencils. Round for your more romantic flowey looks with dresses and some skirts.

Although if you MUST keep only one, then knowing your outfits and your style, I'd go with the rounded toes patent ones. Plus the fact that they are real leather means they won't let you down or hurt your feet in the long run (pun or no pun).

Another vote for the MK pointy toe pumps. The color is the most flattering and the toe lengthens your legs amazingly. If they are comfy (and you are comfy with the budget issue) I say keep. The other K/R pair is nice, but not your skin tone and similar to the nubuck in toe shape.

Thank you for all input on the nude pumps! I guess now it's only up to me - I love the look of them, pointy toes and all (my eyes have adjusted quickly), but I am a bit hesitant because I fear that the style is not quite "me" in some way. Then there's the height issue, too. They have to be truly walkable first and foremost. I have a few more days before I need to make a decision, so I'll walk a little in them at home every day this week to see how it goes.

I love the pointy MK pumps for their leg-lengthening beauty and my only hesitation is the height, as Shannon mentioned, and that's subjective, as I can't go above two inches. As long as the comfort is good, these are gorgeous, Ingunn.

I have purposefully not read any of the he other comments because I am easily influenced by others. I have read your post thoroughly (with my morning coffee) and have looked at the photos over and over, back and forth, to try to weigh the questions you are asking. There are so many levels to this that it makes for complicated answering... But I will try!

#5 MK pointy toe: I find these the most flattering. They seem to blend in the best with your skin tone in the full length photos (although in the close up, they have yellower undertones than you skin - but this does not come through on a larger perspective). I think that these would add a completely new shape to your wardrobe of beigey toned shoes, therefore making them a versitle addition to your collection. I also liked that they were comfortable. The only negative I can find is that you aren't in love with the pointy toe.

#8 Snakeskin peep toes: These are extremely flattering! Despite your description of them as mustard, in the close up they look great with your skin tone. There is a blue based taupe in with the mustard that is really flattering. They do, however, provide stronger contrast against your skin than a true nude shoe. I also like that these are comfortable.

#6 Bianco blush: While this has the cooler undertones that match your skin tone, it is lighter than you skin, so it reads as contrast instead of blending into your skin. This is not a bad look - it is just a specific look, like a white shoe. The shoe itself makes a bit more of a statement than "nude". The negatives to me are the comfort of the shoe and the fact that they read so similarly to my eye as the stone Nubucks that you already own.

#7 Nubuck stone pump: I like them because they have a slightly vintage flavor - something about the way the toe turns up slightly and is so rounded, and the heel. Like the blush ones, above, they don't seem like a true nude pump. They contrast with your skin tone and have their own particular "look".

As you can see, my clear choice is the MK pair because they would add a nude pump to your diverse collection and they are so very flattering. I don't think that they would be a workhorse as much as a classic item that would pull together certain looks (although they truly would go with anything). That being said, my second choice is actually for you to keep neither of the new pairs of shoes. Given what you said about your lifestyle and your uncertainty with the pointy toe shape, I wonder if the snakeskin and Nubucks would cover any outfit where nude pumps could be used. Then you could use the money on something completely different that would get more use.

So... I don't know that I answered every question, but that is my opinion. Now I am looking forward to reading what the others said (and shall try very hard not to amend this after doing so!).

I read your entire post (but not the other responses yet) and I'd love to be loved forever And it's the perfect situation for me to read a long post - it's early morning, coffee in hand, and the only ones up are me and the three doggies (any typos are a result of two of them attempting to sit on my lap and are not a reflection of my intelligence!).

And the winner is - the MK pointy toes! I think they match your skin tone very well.

I agree with you on the level of refinement. And I also get what you're saying on the lifestyle issue. I live in the 'burbs, teach in a large city school district, give presentations on occasion, and while I don't take the bus to work, I do sometimes have to park on city streets and walk as my school has a not-big-enough parking lot. I recently purchased a pair of nude for me pumps, and I adore them - they are in constant rotation (well, when there's not two feet of snow on the ground and temps aren't hanging out at 0 F). I love the way they "take a back seat" and let the outfit shine.

Since something has to go, I'd give up one of the two sandals and the Nubuck stone pumps.

As far as the cons and looking for something else, that's a hard question to answer. I love the pointy toe on you, but if you don't, then perhaps MK makes a round or almond toe shoe in the same color. If they fit in with your budget, it's money well spent. I also like the snakeskin peep toes - a great casual/dressy/fun shoe - and i'd recommend keeping both if you can.

I'm basking in the love already :) Time for a second cup of coffee, and to see what everyone else said.

I love those pointy toe ones for you. Great color on your skin, and the pointy toe is more refined than the other more rounded toes. My second choice is the peep toes, which have a different vibe, but still very nice.

Oh, and I don't think that a "refined" style and a "casual" lifestyle need be mutually exclusive. My life is very casual but I'm usually looking for a hint of the refined somewhere in my outfits -- a nod to modern classic, perhaps.

Ingunn, I find the MK's the most flattering. I'm just not a fan of the colour of the Bianco's and the heel height would be a deal breaker for me. I'm also voting to pass the stone pumps possibly as I agree with others, they do look a little worn. I love the toe shape of the MK's. Your snakeskin shoes I also find very attractive and would serve as a neutral with lots of warm toned deeper coloured outfits.

What a treat to wake up to all your valuable and knowledgeable opinions on shoes. Thank you for taking time to add to this discussion, all of you. The MK's wins by far, and the Bianco's go back today already. I will be thinking a bit more about the MK pumps before I make up my mind, but you have made it a lot easier for me.

I completely agree that money spent on good shoes that are being worn is never regretted. My best shoes are always the good quality ones, in contradiction to clothes where I sometimes think a cheaper option can be just as versatile and have great value. I suppose I will keep these shoes for several years, If I get them, so the CPW will whittle down eventually. As a comparison I could mention my sued cork wedges. I bought them in 2010, paid so much for them that my sweat broke, but every summer since I've been delighted to pull them out of my closet. They are a little worn now, but I have no plans go getting rid of them, and the price divided on 5 seasons+ is nothing to talk about anymore.

I have 4 pairs of that MK style pump and I love them all including that nude pump! I wear those especially in the summer with everything! I have received many compliments on them (even from strangers) the height of the heel makes them the most comfortable! In fact I would love a pair of red patent too. And I think that mk nude blends in quite nicely with your skin tone and the points are fab, definitely not too long and pointy!!! If you decide to keep them I believe you will love them.

I didn't read your other thread so I hope that doesn't interfere with my opinions.

Picture and question 1 -- Love the Michael Kors here, and they have a different toe from your existing pumps so I would go with those. Do you need them? Do any of us truly need more than one pair of shoes? :-) I think a better question to ask is, will you love them and wear them a lot?

2 -- If you don't like the nubucks, get rid of them. Looking at your shoe collection, #1 is my least favorite and looking more worn out than the others.

3 -- Heel height -- the Sibyls are one again prophesying that you must get the Michael Kors pumps!

4 -- the Biancos are my least favorite color on you, I'm not sure why, very pink. I think all of these look fine on you to tell the truth. The Kors and the last pair, the snakeskin, look most flattering to me.
I am quite color-blind though. I am much better with form, shape and proportion and on that count, the Kors are the best.

I hope I've helped without being too blunt!!

I agree, MK all the way. The style looks wonderful with your legs and the types of clothes that you wear. I think the color is actually better than the Biancos, which to me look a little chalky or pastel-y or something. Also the Biancos are too high and have tightness issues.

The snakeskin pumps are keepers but do not function as a nude.

One of the reasons to wear a nude pump is that when worn with a dress they make one's legs look a mile long and cover any flaws without needing stockings as camouflage. Looking at your photos, and you're wearing only a navy dress with little extra to catch the eye, the lighter pumps make your legs look incredible. The darker the shoe the less of an effect on lengthening the leg and the more we see the shoe. So, unless you love the shoe especially or wish to highlight something about the shoe, I suggest going for the disappearing nude pump and it's amazing magic abilities. It's funny because the close up of the two tones on your skin tone made one seem better than the other but once seen with the dress, both were outstanding. Choose sandals for weather that demands them, outfits suitable for the other shoes should use those. But for dresses, you've got some excellent pumps that make you look fantastic.

MK Pointy toe ones for sure!

They can be worn with almost anything. Only drawback may be heel height for commuting by transit etc. I found my patent nude heels to be a wonderful addition and I have worn them much more than I ever thought I would with my casual lifestyle.

Ingunn, I think that the MK shoes look absolutely beautiful on you! I agree with El Cee that although the Biancos might technically be a little closer to your skin shade, the MK reads as nude when seen as part of a whole outfit. I think that the pointy toe looks very, very good on you. It's not too pointy at all. Maybe your eye needs some time to adjust? I see that your other shoes are more in the round-toe category.

As far as whether you need patent pumps, I will say that I think that the MK pumps are quite different from anything else you have in your wardrobe and will be very versatile. You mentioned that they are comfy and the right heel height, which in my opinion is nothing to sneeze at! Every little bit helps when we're talking heels. :^) I do like the snakeskin too, but as El Cee pointed out, they do not "do" the same thing for an outfit as the nude pumps. So I think you could consider the nude pumps as filling a different role in your wardrobe than the snakeskin. And since they are pointy-toed, they could be considered as perhaps filling another wardrobe hole as well.

I don't think they're too refined for a more casual lifestyle at all. I think that they are dressy but not overly so. I think that they have versatility in this sense too; they can be worn with different styles of outfits and be dressed up or down.

Hi Ingunn -- Glass of iced tea is in hand. Pondering your questions. On the short version -- I am leaning toward the MK shoe. Although I feel as though the shade of the Bianco is probably closer to your own skin tone when seen as a "foot only" shot, both shoes read "nude" when seen as part of a full outfit. The shape of the MK is more refined, in my opinion, and looks more in keeping with your classic, ladylike style. I agree with others that the Bianco shoe seems to have a "youngish" and more casual vibe. On the longer version -- I think having a nude pump is a style preference and not necessarily a true need, especially as you have other shoes that are light enough in color to sort of fill that void. However, it is really nice to have options… in this case a dressier one with a fashion-forward look (pointy toe). As to comfort -- in my own world, comfort is key. I can only speak for myself here but if something does not fit right or is not comfy (too small, pinches, too high a heel to allow mobility), it has no place in my closet. So, in my world, the nubucks and the Bianco shoes would not stay. Nubucks too small. Bianco heels too high. 'Nuff said. As to level of refinement -- that is a question only you can answer. The MK pumps look lovely on you… and especially nice with the dress. Would you wear them for the less dressed up occasions (with jeans, casual skirts, etc.) or would they just sit in your closet waiting for a special occasion? Of course, there is absolutely nothing wrong with having shoes for the special times. But they will have a higher cost-per-wear. Are you OK with that? You mention that you give more importance to staples. That might be a priority worth giving a lot of consideration here. For me, personally, my staples are my flats and my lower (kitten) heels as I am a gal on my feet all day… and a bus commuter. Higher heels are worn for "sitting events" only. I still have a couple of pairs, but they do not get worn often. I am OK with that. Finally -- which to keep? If it were up to me, I would keep the snakeskin as they are comfortable and have their own unique vibe. While not a true nude, they are a light neutral and even bookend your hair just a bit. I would also keep the new MK beige pumps as a dressier, more refined option -- accepting that they may not get as much play as a more casual shoe.

I bought Cole Haan pointy toe patent nude pumps last year and haven't regretted it once. They are workhorse shoes for me once the snow is gone and they go with everything. I find they make every outfit I wear them with look better. And they are more versatile than I had expected. I'm on my phone or I would link to some outfits. I wear them with dresses and jeans and everything in between.

I love the ones you're wearing in pic #5 and those would be my first choice for you.

ETA: I will note that my nude pumps are only 1.5 inch heels and that may make them a bit more wearable.

Ah, Ingunn. I feel your dilemma. This is one of the reasons I don't own many pumps myself. With my lifestyle, and my climate, there are so few opportunities for the wearing.

Yet I will say this. I LOVE the MK on you, more than any of the others. I like the snake, too -- but the MK are gorgeous. And, what Carla said about never regretting money spent on shoes.

Here is another story. I bought, at Sveta's urging, a pair of pointy toed Donald Pliner booties at the NAS. At the sale price they were not outrageously expensive, but they were still quite pricey when I considered that I probably would not wear them terribly often, given my way of life.

And yet. I did need a dressier bootie. It was a real need.

So...I bought them. And, just as I predicted, I wore them very infrequently this past season -- maybe a total of six times. At that rate, they have hardly earned their CPW.

Yet...am I sorry I bought them? Absolutely not. Twice when I wore them, I'd have been utterly sunk for an outfit without them. Truly -- they MADE the look, and made me happy wearing the outfit. I know they will look stylish for at least another four years, and I'll happily wear them. So I do not think they were a poor choice.

Also, one of my few pairs of pumps is a patent dark burgundy by Ecco with a slightly pointed almond toe. I have had those pumps since 2008 and they are still going strong. Do I wear them often? No, only a couple of times per year. But again, they are necessary in my closet.

The real question, to my mind, is what kind of closed toe (and perhaps heel) footwear can women like us wear -- walking fast on cobblestones, wanting a bit of a heel but not too much, not always wanting that extra coverage of a bootie? I have one pair of wedges that I tend to wear in spring/ fall for such purposes. But it's not ideal.

#1 you have the color family covered, but it doesn't look like you have a very dressy shoe in that color, the snakeskin is the closest. The stone pumps read a little more casual to my eye for some reason.

In terms of look the snakeskin pumps and the MK point toes look most flattering to me on you. I think the MK ones are the top in terms of skin color match and refined shape that works well with your legs to my eye. In terms of color I think either the snakeskin (for hair match) or the MK for skin match work very well.

Lifestyle. This is a tougher one, and I why I don't end up with many pumps. I think I'd try them on with several of your most common outfits that you would normally wear the snakeskin or stone ones with, and see if the new shoes offer an improvement to your eye. I'd also try them with more casual looks, jeans etc. to see if that might be something you would like to wear them with.

Keep the pointy toe beige (MK) and if you are looking to edit, do so with the grey nubuck's you don't love anymore. They are looking a little worn. Pass on the blush/pink pumps. I like the snake skin very much, but they do something different than the nude patent.

I bet you will find yourself reaching for the nude pumps over, and over again once they are in your closet. FWIW, I've never regretted spending good money on shoes.
