I like the flutter sleeves and love this colour on you. I'm unsure of the too tent-like back fit from the photo. Could be just fine in person, though.

I don't think the frock is casual, but it's totally wearable for every day.

You all are probably addressing another issue for me. It's not as casual as say, a Tshirt dress. I'd see myself wearing it for outdoor events like outdoor graduations, going out to eat at an outdoor venue, outdoor concert. As far as the fabric goes - I'm terrible at taking in consideration fabric content. So thank you for that reminder. I'm not sure if it would be too hot or not? But I keep asking myself the same question as delurked - would I reach for this instead of something else I already have. I'll have to think on it some more. I'm still leaning toward returning it but you've given me more to think about.

It's interesting. To my eye, the chiffon material, more classic cut, and flutter sleeves say dressy-- like wear to a wedding dressy -- but the loose fit says casual.

I agree that the fabric makes it seem a little dressy. I could see it for a casual wedding or church on Sunday but not a backyard barbecue, so it kind of depends on how you think you would use it. I am also not a huge fan of the flutter sleeves on me, they look too cutesy, but I don't mind them on you. I do like the straight fit and pattern.

The dress looks very nice on you but the sleeves kind of stick up instead of draping which I would prefer. That's not necessarily a deal breaker but it depends on how much it bothers you.

Are you in my head today? I've considered this dress many times as I love the color and print. I ruled it out since I have wide shoulders and am tall, and goodness knows I don't need another short dress.

I like the dress most in the front pic. It's harder for me to tell if it's too voluminous from the back. My question is - can you see yourself reaching for this instead of something else to wear casually? It can certainly be more dressy, but the shoes could dress it down. I like dresses and find them very easy, but I certainly get the "oh, you dressed up" comments from others.

Lisa, funny, I was thinking that, too -- it's on the dressy side. But maybe also because I couldn't wear it without AC and my house isn't AC'd...but also the chiffon like fabric reads as dressy.

It's pretty ! But it doesn't give me a casual easy dress vibe at all. In fact, it looks like something I'd wear to an outdoor wedding, with high heels. Am I completely misreading it from the photo? The fabric and sleeves look delicate and dressy......

Wow, it's lovely on you -- such a pretty colour and interesting pattern.

I love everything about it (hey, do I need one, too?)

EXCEPT, I, like you, am not a fan of flutter sleeves. I really don't like them on myself. I don't think they look bad on you here, not at all -- they are feminine and pretty! But I think I know the feeling you might be having and I know this would kill the dress for me personally. So I guess you have to consult your heart. In terms of flattery, it's great - it's all in how it feels for your style.

I think it looks cute on you. The model must be well over 6 feet tall. I was concerned about the length. The length looks good on you. I think the fit is good, too. It looks kind of breezy. Does it feel breezy? It's polyester which isn't very comfortable in heat and humidity. Would that be a problem?

I needs the forum's wisdom. I don't post many k/r because I usually decide very quickly (for better or for worse) if I'm going to keep something. I have this dress in a bag to return but I keep coming back to it. I don't really "need" a summer dress for anything in particular but did want to add one or two this year to have them on hand for casual gatherings when it's hot and I don't want to resort to shorts.
Pros of this dress:
love the color
Doesn't have to be dry cleaned (this is a must at this time in my life)
Is very airy and light, great for hot weather
I think the flutter sleeves help balance my narrow shoulders

Cons:
It's a little tent like from the side but it moves well and I think looks better IRL than the photos. I don't think I'd want to take the sides in because that kind of defeats the purpose of having an easy, breezy dress.
I'm not sure I "like" the flutter sleeves. They seem a little too dainty (?), precious (?) for me. But maybe I just need to step out of my comfort zone.
honest opinions. I don't have to add a dress and I really don't want something that's just ok.
