I checked and it looks like there's enough fabric round the hem to lengthen them a bit... I will check with my mom who usually shortens my pants ;). If lengthening an inch or so is possible I'll keep, if not, return.<br /> Angie, yes, I tend to wear cooler colors but am experimenting this year with mixing warmer and cooler tones. The color is best represented in pics 2 and 4 so not overly warm either. The new shorter full length has a hem that rests on the vamp of the shoe. Or you need to crop them more. Am also used to cooler colours on you. I tried them on but do not remember the length, except that they were not too long on 5’3” me. I was too distracted by how they worked with my glucose meter. The pants will be returned. They are not pull ons but have a front zipper, button and two hooks. The wool was incredibly itchy against my skin and the waist band hit right in the middle of the area where I wear my device. When it’s the least bit chilly I like socks, and am not a big sock- exposer, so usually want pants to cover top of shoes. This length here is what I encounter a lot and it drives me nuts — it reminds me of wearing “floods” as a kid. A pair of high shaft boots would fill the gap, but even then, for my eye, they seem too short. But take my observation considering the source — I have trouble with the “ new full length” anyway. I'm inclined to keep because they fit well (a miracle!), are comfortable, in a lovely wool mix yet fully lined and machine washable. The color is a nice change up from my usual grey &amp; navy workwear trousers. </p> <p>But are they an awkward length? I never had a pair of full length trousers come up short before - possibly these are meant to be cropped? Aren't they short to be 'the new full length'?
