I'm with Gaylene. There is something about the second shirt that's more authentic to me. And Elle, you got rid of your Suzi Quattro and Ramones tees? I'm dying of envy.

Well, speaking as an adoring Stones fan from the 60s and 70s, it's the modern look of this particular tee that is off-putting to me. The vintage Stones tee is cool, but the modern version reminds me that the rebellious tongue is now coming from the mouth of a grandfather--creepy beyond words.

Ah, Mick, what have you done to yourself...we idolized you and loved your music, but you and the rest of the band have changed into something weird and creepy that we hardly recognize. *sadly wandering off to listen to my well-worn vinyl Stones albums*
Janet I only like animal print for shoes bags & belts too, with the exception of the right leopard coat. I'm not looking for one because I have a wool coat, but I love them on Emmanuel Alt & Kate Moss. Both of them are my style icons. So I may end up with one.

It's funny you mention that. I'm feeling a bit burnt out on animal prints in clothing. Not shoes, bags or belts, interestingly enough. Studs, however, I'm still into. They just have to be done right. Some studded looks (my elusive Old Gringo boots) are so me, and some are not at all. I can be really picky about the details.

I wouldn't wear a tee of a band I didn't like but I think you know that Janet & Lyn right? I don't think anyone would. I stopped buying band tees & got rid of most. I used to work for a Rock n Roll t-shirt company so I had a lot from there too. Cool old bands who may not have been touring. Remember the glitter & studded ones? Before Ed Hardy turned me off graphic tees. I had Suzie Quattro, Joan Jett, the Ramones & many more. I'm showing my age now but you all know my age anyway.

I think while I don't have a poison eye for band tees, I got burned out on that period of my style, the same thing happened to me with studs, & leopard print, though I would die for Janet's Valentino rockstuds & am enjoying animal print again. I just have to find new grown up ways to do these things. Angie has shown me how to do novelty tees & animal print & studs done right are possible too.

I like all versions! To Lyn's point, I am assuming you are a Stones fan. I wouldn't wear a shirt for a band whose music I didn't enjoy. In fact, I'm sure many would question the appropriateness of my Cramps' "Bad Music for Bad People" tee, but I still like it.

I echo what Angie said, Elle, all renditions look amazing on you. And after seeing how you rock the pencil skirt + pointy toed pumps look, I now REALLY want a pair of pointy-toes too:-)

I like ALL the renditions, Elle. You really rock this look. I do prefer the less tight tee in general if you're wearing it on its own.

I think you can rock these. I like 4 and 7 best. I don't think I could fit into mine since they are from Junior High but I wore them twice a week then so I got my CPW out of them (us oldies can remember when concert tshirts were $10) but can't let go.

K/R is a black hi-lo muscle tee. The low part of the hem is really low, this causes problems with the pencil skirt I think. I bought it to wear with the pencil skirt not jeans, so that I could do Angie's grown up novelty tee ensemble. Because it didn't work out so well, I tried it with white jeans & pumps to try to make it more grown up & feminine. It works better with low rise jeans. The muscle tee in black with my tattoos looks very tough. More tough than I care to look. In black jeans it would be worse.

Pic 1 - I untucked with skirt

Pic 2 - fully tucked with the skirt. Fully tucked seemed to work because the skirt is too big for me. I plan to have it altered as it is a Paul Smith Black Label & I only wore it once before losing weight. Once the skirt is altered to fit I'm afraid all that tee fabric will show under the skirt.

Pic 3 - half tucked

Pics 4 & 5 - with white jeans.

Is it too tough? Is it ok with skirt, which version? Is it still grown up & dressy with jeans & pumps?

Pics 6 & 7 - An old Rolling Stones tee. Is it too body con? Is it debombshelled enough with jacket? If I had to remove jacket would it be OK? Otherwise you can't really see what it is.

Thanks
