Tex, I let myself be influenced by the low cost of this jacket and the fact that it isn't black. I'll have to look around Zappos some more. I love the color of the jacket you linked to but I do want down for the cold weather. I'm getting quite a chuckle out if the cleavage peeking out from a winter coat in that pic: )

MNsara - they are both petites - sleeve length is often an issue for me at 5' 4".

Hard when you're between sizes

Sometimes when the sleeves get too long, I've had luck trying the larger of my two sizes but in Petite. I'm 5'5" and not the Petite target group, but sometimes it works!

My waist, such as it is, is not very visible in jackets and the belt made it even puffier on me.
cinnamon fern, Rae, and Zap, thanks for weighing in. Krish - no need to apologize - opinions are exactly what I was looking for!
You've all been so helpful.

I think you made the right choice to keep looking. A more figure flattering option would be so much better. Does it have to be a puffer specifically? And white? If I were buying another jacket I think I'd opt for one like I think Janet has (Zella?) more sporty, fitted, very flattering. Maybe in a fun color. Or I saw some quilted jackets by Shelli Segal "Laundry" brand name I think. Or one of these:

I agree with Cinnamon Fern... unfort this is not the best look. The white colour is beautiful, but the cut could be more flattering, esp. if designed without the belt to start with. I don't like how it flares front ward on the side view pic. Sorry!

I think the medium looks great. Wear the layers for a bit, if you can tolerate it. I have noticed that what I originally feel as too tight layer wise , it is really not once the layers settle in.

The sleeves look right on the medium. The sleeves look too long on the large. That's the main difference I noticed. It could be that the shoulders fit better on the medium, therefore the arms fit better.

I think the large is too big and the medium too small. The large doesn't quite fit and I fear cold air will get under it.

If you can't wear a heavy sweater under a puffer, well, I wouldn't keep the puffer. You need them whe it is really cold!

I think the medium in 1/2 looks better (less puffy) and I think it might look better belted; although not quite sure about that.

I would love your input on this jacket. I already have a down coat but have been wanting a down jacket for running errands and that sort of thing.
The medium (1 and 2) feels perfect - with only a long sleeve tee shirt underneath. It is snug in the shoulders with a heavy sweater.
The large (3 and 4) has plenty of room with a heavy sweater but I wonder if it looks too big? For the most part I'll probably be wearing it with a midweight to heavy sweater, so I'm not quite sure why I photographed it with just the tee shirt (5 and 6) underneath.
The jacket does come with a belt, but Iike it better on me without.
Is the fit of the large good, or should I keep looking? Thanks! My apologies for the white out....
